Probably not. Car is back in Louisiana. I am saving my kitchen passes for Watkins Glen at end of August and back to Road Atlanta in December. My buddies do a road trip to VIR in October which I may join but that's with PCA and Chin.

Fair enough! I've got some friends going to that WGI event with NASA NE. I'm waiting for them to open up an instructor slot so I can register!

You doing any of the NASA TX events? What about COTA After Dark?

You doing any of the NASA TX events? What about COTA After Dark?

Not looking good for NASA Texas. I may do the NOLA crossover event though. I am not a big COTA fan. Plus I don't have headlights, if that matters.

Can't comment on those specific tires. I've used these (or their predecessor) on three consecutive SUV's and have not been disappointed. Great traction in all conditions. Michelin just makes great tires!

92F ambient, >125F track temperature and finally destroyed my NT01s. My goal was to get into the 1:4x at BIR Competition layout but couldn't get there with several low 1:50.x on the 2nd lap each time out. A decently prepped M2c with slicks could do 1:44s.

Still had tons of fun with an open track day but now I can't go back to HDPEs with sessions. Yuck.

i'm always amazed at how fast these springs move. is there any idea as to what causes spring failure? luck of the draw?

Dislocations in the metal matrix. Impurities in the metal matrix. All can do it when they get to the grain boundaries and pile up. Then bad things can happen. Steel is tough but eventually things can happen to it. I’m not a metallurgist and I never liked drawing up the crystal lattices in my materials engineering grad classes (I played with composites for a while, not metals), but yeah, shit happens. Or an over rev which is just accelerating the process really.

I have done a wiring harness thinning exercise on an E46 M3 and would have loved to have had a PDM 32. It wasn't available at the time and I ended up with a few relays and several fused blocks. PDM gives you a lot of flexibility and a much cleaner look.

I get the firm impression that you can throw a dart at the listing of available Michelin tires for a car and come out very satisfied. They just do great stuff.

It's a pity they don't have any normal cost track/street tire. The PSC2 is too damn expensive in the US

My shop is thinking of removing the wiring harness all together and building one fresh rather than thinning. Evidently the E90 harness is a rats nest to deal with.

That's the best way. Chassis harness of E46 weighs almost 50 pounds.

There is a reason that brand commands a price premium.
