Shit, I've often thought some seem to have a beautiful bronzish luster to them and some look more bright silver.. I always assumed lighting and camera trickery caused it in pictures.. do you have two of each atleast? ... rock two of each on opposing sides.. buy beers for anyone that notices.
I now have 8 ZCP wheels.

1 9" original hyper silver
1 9" "hyper" silver
2 9" sonic silver
2 10" sonic silver
2 10" sorta sonic silver (again - fml)

Running a 10" square setup now. The sonic silvers are close and the same color is on the same side of the car. So only I know.

FML this sucks though.

Cheers,
Curious to why you have two sets of wheels?

I wanted a square setup.

And I have non-stock color on my existing staggered setup. Sooo...

Now I need to figure out what to do with 4 9" 359s...

If you were selling a staggered setup I wouldn't mind buying them but if I buy two 9s I would have to find two 10s which would be a PITA

Cleared the calipers with the decals. The stickers are too big really had to off center them to fit but good enough for brakes. Cut the spacers for the backing plates and mounted them, you can rock the car with them, they're stout af, Cleaned up the old bearings and painted the middle.. just waiting for new hardware now for the ducts and bearings.. then on to the rest of it..

Dave, in my opinion if you want the best possible job for the best price, take them to Greens Wheel Repair in Richmond. They'll do any color you want and restored my 359Ms to factory black and they're absolutely the perfect sheen.

$1,000 for four wheels, took the tires off the wheels, repaired rash, painted, remount and balance.

I think the centre right wheel in your garage photo is the correct finish.

Cheers

Greens was who refinished the one front wheel and it is no where close to the OE Hyper Silver. That said, I did only send them 1 wheel to be finished as Hyper Silver.

As you can see from the photo, the refinished wheel is soooo much brighter... Not even close.

Such is life. I will figure this shite out.

The square setup does look nice though!! Even with a bit of 255 stretch on the front.

Cheers,

If its the last one in picture it looks the best though! You sure the other are original paint mate, I think the brighness of the refurbished one looks more like OEM?

The standard recommendation is to have the two wheels on the side of the vehicle refinished at the same time.

That being said OEM hyper silver has a depth that most powder coats don't have. Your refinished wheel looks pretty close. The silver refinish on my 359s doesn't look near as good.

After doing A LOT of research online and in these forums I joined the E93 club last week 😁. Just got my account validated to post and have the new family member a much-needed wash.

I also purchased an additional set of 359m to create my square 19x10 set.

I was able to sell my 19x9 square set to the owner of an e92 335i. Took a couple months to sell, but got $1000 for the set.

Who makes the carbon back plate for the ducts?

They were made by Turner for their GS racecar way overkill for me but they were cheap and I enjoy little projects like this.
