I was planning on purchasing the universalift 2. Which is a portable 110volt 7000 pd 2 post lift. It’s $3700 installed. But I’m having second thoughts. That maybe I won’t use it as much as I think.

How adjustable are the quick jacks? Mostly referring to the jack pads. Can they be adjusted for mostly every vehicle?

I got the 5000k weight limit so they are perfect sized for our car but also you can get different jack pad extensions to use on like sub or bigger cars I have a 2020 ram truck and I use them on that truck too yeah the truck is heavy but this thing will lift anything

Very adjustable. I would say as long as the platform can fit between the wheels it’ll be able to fit the jack points on your car.

Had an opportunity to wash her today after several weeks of rain or high winds. Used a foam gun for the first time and man...I've been missing out!

QJ does have some flexibility for different cars, but you need to do the research for your specific vehicles. The QJ website has a chart for reference to help choose between their models, do the measurements on all your cars as an inch or two min/max (and GVW) can make a difference in which model to buy.
https://www.quickjack.com/support/measuring-guide/

I have the 5000EXT that just barely fits my three M and X vehicles. Agree with all, its a great buy even if you only do the most basic work. I did two brake jobs and more than paid for the QJ vs dealer prices. Plus winter/summer tire swaps, brake fluid flush, oil changes, exhaust, suspension checks, etc. The only thing I don't like doing are diff & trans fluid changes. Its just awkward laying down and using those cheap hand pumps. Though I could buy a nice Motive pump and quit complaining.

I had the same pre-purchase hesitation regarding QJ vs lift. I went with the QJ because I know I won't be in my current house forever, and its not ever in the way. Also, if I'm desperate I do have access to a full lift elsewhere though not convenient. In summary, QJ is one of those tools that pays for itself in just 1-2 uses, so even if you buy a full lift later, the QJ can be taken to the track, sold, loaned to friends, etc. and won't just gather dust.

No cleaning or lifts here still on jack stands. 😖

Almost ready for the track season.

Installed DO88 oil cooler and Core 4 hubs with press in studs.

Motul 8100 oil
Coolant flush and replaced 90 /10 water/coolant plus wetter.
Flushed brakes with new SRF fluid.

Needs alignment and corner balance. Hopefully I'll sack up and cut up my hood to install vents and aero catches.

Great weekend in the PNW, temps in the 80's! Did the BPM Stage 2 tune on Friday after installing Turner test pipes (and res delete), then went on a long test drive Saturday up to Anacortes. Wow, that sound! Going through the short tunnels in Seattle was awesome ...my wife was soo embarrassed!
BTW if you ever feel like the car hobby is too expensive, just go take a walk through a marina, even a modest one, and look at the boat prices. OMG!

Maintenance

The last of the fluids on my E90 to be serviced. I was surprised that BMW didn't have a branded bottle but I confirmed with my SA friend that this is what they'd use.

Had a small roll of shadow black 3M 2080 and decided to try my hand at trim wrapping.

Not sure if I'll keep it but a nice change from the brushed aluminum.

That's definitely different! Reminds me of the crushed carbon trim some exotic manufacturers are doing nowadays.

Funny side note about "forged carbon fiber" being used on lambos and the like.

So much less expensive from a manufacturing standpoint, less overall tensile strength, minimal weight difference, less cure time, and a higher retail!

Like charging more for less....oh wait, Porsche been doing that for decades, lol.

I use mine for an E70 X5, F30 340i, E90M, E92M, F80 M3, F56 Mini

In my mind this is pretty much 'all cars', at least all cars I have interest in owning right now

Edit: remember you can turn the platforms 90 degrees to be able to pick up pretty much any vehicle

I don't know. The regular 5000lb one. I haven't noticed a model number on it.

BTW hello, it's been a while!
