6 speed here as well. Not into an auto tragic/DCT tranny regardless how fast it shifts.

Got a 6MT on order and I have a silly question

So I'm aware if you are driving around in 1st gear and you let off the gas the car will continue to crawl along without stalling. My question is when starting out in 1st, can you just let out the clutch smoothly and start off crawling without needing to give it any gas also? Kinda of like you can do in Reverse gear.

Sorry if that was stupid. I had a WRX 5 speed for years and it would stall the moment you stared at 1k.

Yes - it's hard to stall this engine. You can modulate the clutch to create forward momentum. In fact, with enough patience, you could do the same in your WRX (assuming your clutch was stock).

Im switching back on Monday! DCT woo'd me in and I do think it's a great transmission for the M3. But I'm ready to take control again.
