Yes,
The driver came over to apologies.
He supposed to be on the left side and give a point by over the roof much earlier. But he was driving in the middle of the track and not giving a very clear signal. I think he is pretty restricted in that thing and his point-by over the roof is hardly over the roof.

I have passed him number of times before so I knew, he knows, that we have a very large speed differential. I initially thought he was giving me room on the left side so I can have better shot at the bus stop. But it was too ambiguous and I did not want to take a chance.

Finally I just went to the side that is more likely of what he expect me to do.

And please rename to something controversial, like "the learnings of a recreational tire expert". Probably help with driving organic search traffic to M3post.

I forgot to mention, I hit 151mph coming into the bus stop. First time getting to 150mph ever.

I started with Zeb wing set to high aoa, a setup more for NYST and LRP. but I left it as is because I don't like to tinker with my settings.

But I was understeering in the carousel and thought, perhaps I should reduce the AOA.

Took it down to 0 (in relation to the ground) and was uncomfortable in the esses. and I can say, if something is uncomfortable in the esses, the hell with the carousel.

So gave it some AOA back, around 3 and felt good.

So it will stay like that for the up and coming LRP

Yesterday at LRP PB of 60.37 vs 60.52
Tires were on 5th day (3-days WGI and 1-day at NYST)

Front ADO8R 265/35/19
Rear Corsa Async 2 305/30/19

Cooler temperatures yesterday.

I didn't notice it was a PB event. Last lap out of 20.
mostly in traffic until I got a gap toward the end.

While I am still chasing 59.xx sec, I am now routinely get into the 60sec with what ever tires I happened to be on and open gap in traffic.

Another personal best at LRP yesterday with BMW CVC - 60.312. However, this time on road tires.

Front - RE-050A Porsche tire 265/35/19 after an NYST day

Rear - Potenza S007 Ferrari tire 275/35/19 with two LRP and 1 NYST day.

Also 5 laps at the 60.3-60.4 pace

Last session 3 laps at 60.4-60.5

Heavy traffic day and late point bys so it was difficult to have a consistence pace.

Freakishly good weather for MassTuning event this coming Fri-Sun.

Recently my car had no issues for number of trackdays and I am looking forward to just drive.

Driving to the track on stickers ADO8R 265/35/19 and Pirelli Corsa Asym 2 305/30/19.

It was a good combination for the last time @WGI so will continue with the same tires for now.

The format of MassTuning is a bit different than other organizers. There are three groups that share the hour, 20min per group.

The advanced group has been good to me at PMP and LRP. The point-bys are generous.

Had similar but colder conditions a few weeks ago and the Kumho PS91s you used previously were very enjoyable to drive. Nothing amazingly quick, but very predicable and plenty of feedback. Once they overheat, the front tires just understeered so made it easy to figure out the overheating threshold. The Cup 2s I had were no a fan of the conditions.

The PS91s were cheaper last year when I got the fronts for 162 per tire vs 218 today and 185 for each rear vs 247 today. (stock 245/35/19 and 265/35/19 sizes). At $700 for the set, they're great value. At $930 for the set, not so sure about it.

another personal best at Watkins Glen International (WGI)
2:06:82

This was a three day event with MassTuning in incredible weather. Chilly in the first session but amazing in the rest of the sessions.

On Friday, while not achieving PB (2:07.20) I ran 10 laps with theoretical time of 2:04.718. There was traffic to handle. If I took off ANY of the 10 laps, The theoretical lap time went up.

I think that by continuing improving my driving I can break 2:05 not by going faster, but by connecting the dots better.

Here is my best time video.
Taking the bus stop slow coming narrow angle cost me few tenths but otherwise I am very happy with my driving to wrap up 2022.

This lap is on the third day at WGI and the 10th lap of that session with the ADO8 running backwards because I switched them left to right on the third day.

Yes the short course is just pure fun. We had an open track on the short course for an hour 4pm-5pm at the end of each day.

Thanks for this info.

Hey! Somehow I found this thread and noticed that your car looked familiar. Then I saw your video of me going off in the braking zone at Lime Rock and knew it was you!

I'm the white Supra owner. We shared the track a bunch this last season. Myself and Peter in the red Supra.

Hope to see you out there this year!
