Today the weather played ball, so I picked up the M3 from the shop to do a test drive. It was worth the wait, It sounds even better on the inside. Oh, and we're done with the titanium trunk strut brace.

What's left is Wireless carplay, rear view camera, and most importantly, a fix for that very long clutch pedal travel.

Excuse the suboptimal audio recording but this was not rehearsed in advance.

Full tank of fuel, still with old wheels and tires. I also forgot to remove the floor mats, so that's probably another 10kg.

Another significant weight reduction suggestion with multiple benefits - -replacement of OE seats capable of yielding ~60lbs savings [dependent on selection] along with improved driver feel, engagement and a more motorsport look.

Of course, I'm partial to IB/FR combo
With Recaro America going through bankruptcy, and their stock completely depleted, I managed to snag a pair of heated Sportster CS seats in black with all the required mounting hardware.

I went to a local parts shop that had one on display among many Sparco seats, some were so cheap that they felt like discount gaming chairs, the price also reflected the quality. The Sportster CS was the only seat that felt like an actual car seat.

Recaro America financial stability been questionable for some time.
Scored set just prior to bankruptcy announcement; took ~5 months to fulfill order
Unfortunately, to-date never was able to register seats on-line for warranty coverage. That said, seat performance and quality are spot-on.
>>FYI...Seat Config - Recaro rails, Macht Schnell lite weight floor mounts for racing seats
GL cobbling everything together...benefits & outcome worth the efforts.

Wow, nice find! Did they have anymore??? I'd love a set in Fox Red. Hopefully you've budgeted for the AMX Fox Red covers! I'm a die hard performance guy too but you can treat yourself sometimes to aesthetic upgrades.

Almost impossible to find any stock of Ricaros anymore. I'd love a fox red too, but unless I have them upholstered, it's gonna stay black. I'll look into the AMX stuff.

Ricaro America say they are taking orders and fulfillment date is something over four months. Not sure I wanna wait that long or take the risk.

The risk being they can fold and your deposit is vapor? I'd be fine waiting 4 months, did they say what kind of deposit is needed or has the cost gone up?

Definitely check into the AMX covers, the guy does amazing working and a bunch of people on here have swapped them to their black covered seats and the results are stunning. I wouldn't be able to stomach the mismatched front seats. The covers themselves aren't too expensive either.

New seats are in. A bit disappointed with the weight savings of only 4.3kg or 9.5 lb per seat with the included mounting hardware, but they look good and feel great to sit in.

Wireless carplay with rear view camera is almost finished as well. This will be a heck of a daily with those little creature comforts. Still waiting on the rear seat delete kit to arrive so we can finish the interior, and we're going to get a shift happens shifter for that extra tactility and engagement.

Doing some further research, I wanna tackle the aerodynamics next. Apparently, with a basic front splitter and a duck tail style rear spoiler, you can improve your drag coefficient by about 10% while getting rid of lift all together and adding a bit of downforce, which sounds too good to be true but it's grounded in reality.

Those findings are from this video:

Last but not least, a little teaser to get you guys excited:

i just did this mod as well. However I had a cage in the way. Should have hired a few midgets to install it. My god it was a pain.

Also to the Aero part of the convo
Im curious how a few extra mods would fare..

An extended GT4 spoiler in the front
Carbon Skirts
Tall lip spoiler in the rear
GT4 wing
Varis upper/lower diffuser

We're keeping it very basic for now instead of throwing parts on top of parts. Aerodynamics is such a wormhole that without extensive testing, you're more likely to ruin the efficiency than gain anything.

A front splitter and a small/discrete ducktail spoiler are where we're gonna start with and then run some tests and take it from there.

Most likely these two:

or

And

I'd go with option #2 on each of the above choices.

I'd be willing to scan my car if it helps.

Almost there.

And we just purchased these parts to improve the aerodynamics and looks of the vehicle. Gonna make the exterior just that little bit more special while remaining discrete.

Brought her home the other day because it was warm enough to not cause a booboo. Have some carbon bits and bobs ready to go on the car next while waiting for the new tires to arrive. Almost there.

We are at the final stages of this build, at least for now since track season is underway and I would like to enjoy this car on the limit.

We've replaced the quite heavy steel boot lid with a much lighter CF variant, added a CF front splitter and CF side skirts. It looks incredible in person. In terms of body work, we just need to do some paint restoration which isn't a priority.

Also managed to snag one of these thanks to Chrisyphus :

https://parteeracing.com/store/bmw-t...carbon-plenum/

That will complete the look of the engine bay as well as add a bit more power, enhance the acoustics, and might even shave a few pounds.

Can't forget to mention these super lightweight 18x10 Apex SM-10RS wheels wearing this brand new set of Bridgestone RE 71RZ tires in 275/35R18. The tires actually weigh more than the wheels themselves!

The car is getting an alignment as we speak. We've changed the oil after driving it for about 300 miles and after we install the Partee Plenum, it'll hit the dyno for a custom tune and final sign off. I'm hoping for around 400whp, but whatever the engine can produce while remaining reliable is the most important thing.

Final Dyno run before the tune. The car is pretty much complete, just waiting on one last part then I can take it to the local expert and have it fully unleashed. We picked up a healthy amount of power all over the rev range with the bolt ons and maintenance.

The car also sounds absolutely mental and with the aggressive street alignment we put on it, delivers an unbelievable experience. Enjoy the dyno video, numbers before and after, and some beauty shots.
