MFactory/YCW did the flanges, another company supplied the CF tubes. There was a legal dispute with the tube supplier as they started taking YCW flanges and selling their own driveshafts, so YCW cut ties with them. When YCW start to produce their own tubes then the driveshaft will be completely built in-house.

Mine still good with 30~40trackdays. Very~little faster the response of acceleration, and little more shifting shock. but, there was no improvement of laptime

Funny you mentioned transmission shock. I got into an argument with my friend about it. His is 08 and when i redline it, it feel much faster than my 11. He has almost no shock when changing gears, very smooth. Mine does not feel as quick but mine gaps him by a couple of bodies because i have an exhaust. But mine has very distinct shock to the drivetrain coming from the rear kind of when changing gears.

Hmmm. Should current owners be concerned? If so, would there be any sort of rebate option for current owners to exchange an existing shaft for the re-designed one?

No. Read the whole thread. YCW/MFactory used to supply the flanges and a CF tube maker put them together. But the tube maker sold them on the side to others like VAC. YCW/MFactory got upset. Rather than working with the situation such as by licensing with the tube maker, they stopped supplying the tube maker. So for a couple of years neither made money selling BMW shafts. YCW/MFactory thought it was not so hard to make CF shafts so they decided to do it themselves. They have been trying for at least a year and still don’t have it right. I think they will soon. People have been waiting a couple of years. Give it another few months.
To their credit, if it was really easy, someone else would have stepped in. Don’t get impatient and buy a Diveshaft Shop driveshaft. I have one on my E36M3 and it sucks on a daily driver due to NVH from deleting the giubo. I have the “illegal” YCW/MFactory shaft from VAC (it’s identical) on my E90M3 and it’s great — no increase in NVH. What VAC is selling now is the Driveshaft Shop driveshaft and I would not recommend it for a street car because it will add NVH that may be very significant at high speed like 100+.
