What about megan vs the M performance exhaust sound wise? Just picked up a car with the M Exhaust on it, Thinking of selling and getting a whole header back system.

I like nascar v8 sound over the euro howling V8 sound myself. Thats a question you will have to ask yourself.

I think the MPE sounds just fine and even more exotic paired with testpipes.

I did alot of debating after watching many videos on youtube, megan vs. CNT exhaust vs. OEM mod. After finally making a decision, I decided to go with the OEM mod with some matte black tips.

I was really concerned about the fitment, therefore it was important to me that I still have the factory LOOK, however as far as the sound I really needed to turn it up a notch. Having listened to many vids and searches on the forum, OEM mod sounded very similar to Megan and CNT.

I just did the mod this morning and honestly IMO it was one of the biggest waste of money even at 400 bucks. You can barely notice the sound in the cabin, and I have to roll down the windows when driving in order to hear it. I really expected to get a better exhaust fedback than what it is, however this should tell you that online videos dont do any justice.

Before I give up, I will try to meet up with someone local and listen to their test pipe/oem mod combo and see what it does. I am really looking for a deeper tone, and since the straight pipes do not bring cats, Im worried that it may sound to raspy at higher RPMS.

So before you spend your money, listen to it in person instead of online. Most of the time you will get a lot of different responses, for some it will be too loud, for others it will be just great, and for people like me it will be way too quiet.

I'm supercharged and catless. The Megan sounds insane. Best bang for the buck on the car, outside of my DTM headlights.

So much that. Which mod did you do? There are 3 different methods.

From your description Id guess the megan would be perfect for you.

Im still just loving mine, get compliments on it all the time. Great balance of exhaust tone and not being too loud. Sounds like what I would expect a stock "performance" exhaust to sound like.

And now that I have lived with it for a few weeks, there is a bit of drone between 1800-2200 rpm but I only notice it when cruising around in 6th at like 40 mph.
