How many have you seen that needed a crankshaft regrind? I've got an 08 with 83K miles that is going to have this service performed, but I'm hoping a crank regrind won't be necessary or else I'm fucked. lol

We've only seen a couple of instances where the crank was damaged, but those were extraordinary circumstances. We rarely ever seen the cranks in bad shape while performing a visual inspection during the bearing service.

2008 E93 M3 - DCT - 33,xxx miles

2010 E92 M3 - DCT - 61,xxx
As many of you may already remember our former shop car. Big Purp has had an ESS blower on it for a long time and got properly punished. Warmed up and oil changed regularly after track days and events. While putting the supercharger kit back on for the current owner, he decided to address the rod bearings. |
