Then again, I currently pay $94 a month for my M3, and when I had the beater on the insurance, I paid something like $50-60 for the beater, and the M's was like $90. No savings worth mentioning. |

The M3 was about $100 a month. Adding the other car lowered the M3 cost to $60 a month and the additional car was $20 a month. The M3 was changed to weekend "pleasure" usage with limited miles with the beater as daily driver. Same coverages.

I also dd my e92 and appreciate it every day. 2 kids, ages 9 & 5 get dropped off for school and they dig it too. Now I just need to talk my wife into something other than a minivan for her dd and family trips.

I'm in a similar position with my wife being 5 months preggers. We just got her a 2012 VW Touareg TDI. That thing's a beast (over 400 lb/ft of torque and somewhere around 7,000 lb towing capacity). Drove it for a 700 mile trip this past week and AVERAGED 30 mpg. Very smooth ride -- I am very happy with the purchase (better than the other options I tested several times, including the X5).
As for me, I'll split time between my E92 and a 2002 Land Rover Discovery II.

Haven't been all that impressed with any audi at the track other than R8 V10. Seen a few ttrs and drivers must be new so hard to say with that variant.

Seems like the DD should be the RS5 then, and the M being the reward for having to drive the RS5 for the mundane stuff.

I-Drive the m3 over my other cars. The e28 gets the same mpg with a smaller tank Its an m5 so it shouldnt be driven much anyway. The Mcoupe gets driven once or twice a week.
00 m coupe, e28 m5, e90 m3. Now I just need a prius

I looked at all kinds of vehicles but I didn't want to give up 'fun'.
9-year old miata. 6 MT. If I were pregnant or driving around kids, I think I'd pick up an E90 335i. I prefer the steering feel of the E90 generation to that of the F30 generation. Love this DD - looks so clean!
