Hey Xcellere,
I've been struggling to get the CD. According to the selling dealership in NH, they are "charged" a fee by the receiving dealership. They have spoken with a few dealers here in CA w/ no luck getting a cooperating dealer who will not charge them big bucks for this. I went out on my own mission just now to see if I could win over a sales manager at a local dealership. I was told the same lines, I couldn't pay them anything, they had to handle it through the dealership "...w/o the customer involved..." and "...for the M3 it certainly won't be $500..." I know your current situation was like a "dealer trade", Have you actually worked the "$500 CD" we've been talking about before?

The selling dealership is charged a "fee" if you the customer don't pay the delivering dealership what they want (in my case South Bay wanted $500 and Beverly Hills BMW wanted $1,000). If you don't pay the delivering dealership the fee then they charge the selling dealership a fee or require some other kind of trade-off, such as giving them an allocation. With that said, contact Ellen Montgomery at South Bay BMW. Her direct line is (310) 435-1000. A good friend of mine works at South Bay and he told me a few months ago to contact her to setup the courtesy delivery. I spoke with her and she said $500 would take care of everything. Remember this is before Newbold transferred the sale of the car over to South Bay. If you contact her, tell her Eric Turano w/ the gray M3 gave you her contact info. South Bay is known for treating their customers VERY well, so you won't run into the kind of bullshit you'd face at Santa Monica or Beverly Hills BMW. She'll handle everything for you, including arranging to have the car shipped directly from Bremerhaven to the California VPC. Keep in mind that MUST contact Ellen and have the delivery arranged before the finishes production. Once production ends, the car is assigned to a boat and by default it would head to the East Coast being your car is going to NH. And the whole line you got from dealerships about "we can't do it through the customer" or "it'll be a lot more than $500" is bullshit. Before I spoke to South Bay I contacted the sales manager at Beverly Hills BMW and he said they'd do a CD for $1,000 and that they could set it up through me. Like I said, I'm positive Ellen would take care of you. If she doesn't, well, then I'll have to give her a good beating. Last edited by eclipsisNA; 02-22-2008 at 08:53 PM.. |

Unless I'm missing something, you must be the most beneficent dealer I've heard of - remind me to buy my car from you next time.

You're not missing something. They are the kindest, most legit dealer you could ever hope to run into. I'm going to write a thread about my experience with them later tonight. Gotta go see Definitely, Maybe with the gf right now.

Priapism (Ancient Greek: πριαπισμός) is a potentially harmful medical condition in which the erect penis does not return to its flaccid state (despite the absence of both physical and psychological stimulation) within about four hours. It is often painful. Priapism is considered a medical emergency, which should receive proper treatment by a qualified medical practitioner.

+10000 for South Bay BMW. I have purchased 14 new BMW's in 10 years and my old dealership was sold to Auto Nation; they fired everyone and the dealership treated me poorly. I found South Bay BMW and Philippe Kahn who works there, he is the best CA ever. I am on my second BMW from them since October and I plan on getting my M3 from them as well.
So +10000 on South Bay. and +100000 on Philippe Kahn at South Bay.
