Adding steering angle to the Measures Graph shows the superiority of the R7.
You can see that the FFI500 (blue) takes more steering angle to generate less g-sum. This is way playing with the throttle and steering angle helped rather that a smoother input on the R7: . |

Cheap $215 for 275/30/19 on tire rack Loud on the turn Good wear (must be hard rubber) Predictable. No issue about wondering what it is going to do About 2 sec slower than MP4S, ADOR8, R888R However, all tires mentioned here were in a different suspension setup. Next trackday I will be on front MPScup2 265/35/19 and same setup. We will see the diff then between 180 track tire and general 340 performance tire. |

Was this the first time out on that suspension? U said all other tires were on a different setup..
I'd be seriously worried if i saw that kind of devastation to one of my tires. That's scary man! I wouldn't just brush that off.. Tires don't chunk on the sidewall from heat |

Looking at the pictures again, looks like the inside is cracked almost all the way around. I've never seen a tire destroy itself that way, but it's clear u overdrove the ish out of it
Honestly makes me angry as an instructor |

Tread does look good though, I have heard they do get pretty decent wear. Bummer on the sidewalls

Tires did its job. I got 1:40.x, 13x20min sessions at full speed, no traffic. and got home to enjoy another day. Really can't ask for more. There was no visible dry rot, but then again, look at the picture :-) |

I ran 275 square FFI500 on my last car, and I was extremely happy with them. Very cheap, great wear, decent grip for the price point and wear. I'm on faster tires in the M3 now, but I thought the FFI500 was a great dual duty tire. Zero inner sidewall issues with mine, but they were newer.

With stock camber and that much weight, the lack of outer shoulder wear was fantastic. After one session, they would get nice and tacky and pick up dirt and pebbles in the paddock. Within 10 road miles they would smooth back over. I would have zero hesitation of running them again for lapping if I wasn't trying to be competitive in TT at some point. |

So this is the point, if you are NOT trying to do your best time, these are good, inexpensive option. The fact that you did not eat up the outside of your sidewall and were on a stock camber is related to traction. If the tire can't generate enough grip, it will slide before it goes over. It also related to your pace. a 275/30/19 MPS4S did great using -2.5 camber on 1:42-1:44 lap time. Wear was even and all looked honky dory. Totally different wear pattern on 1:38. The outside was destroyed. The MP4S has enough grip to role over on the side wall. As a reference, my time in Hoosier R7 is 1:35.7 and that is yet another level of grip |

Beatiful day at NYST today.
Here is the 1:31 Corvette. He is going for the Viper record of 1:28. According to the driver this is no excuse Corvette. If he does not do 1:28, he says it is on him. . 315 Hossies on the front. One can only dream... |
