BPM for sure. I have done it and it makes a huge difference. The test pipes sound great with whatever exhaust you have. I had a full borla system, with the test pipes, and against a stock M3 it is much faster. If you have DCT make sure to get their DCT upgrade as well. I have it, and the car LEAPS forward with each shift. If you have manual, it also has a launch control, that a buddy of mine has, and it is awesome as well. Also has a cold start rev limiter, and you can raise the redline to 8400 or 8500 as well. You also have a few great guys, that can get it done quick and really care. I think the BPM tune is the biggest bang for your buck, and you wouldn't have any regrets.

Update 9/28/14
I updated my car to the newest (240E) platform myself a few days ago via the BMW ste, the last 7 of my VIN # and a USB stick. Since then, My avg MPG has risen 2 mpg to around 18mpg (with some agressive driving here and there). If I reset it and drive very conservatively even around town I can hold just over 20mpg, and if I really smash it the lowest I get is arounnd 13mpg. Idk if this is due to the weather getting colder of the upgrade but it seemed to coincide with the new software.
Next, I finally got my car re-coded yesterday by a brilliant coder referred to me by a good friend. He charged me MUCH less then any other quotes I got, called him, and an hour later I was in his driveway. 15 minutes later, the few things that annoyed me about my car were gone and my I finally had DVD in Motion enabled. Because I my build date is 2011 and I can stream BT audio through my iDrive, I have a combox but bc my car was early 2011 I don't have the software to run Connected drive feature w/ connected apps. He will be installing this update for me as well shortly for a great price. (For those of you that don't know ConnectedApps allows me to used my iDrive as a full internet platform, watching youtube videos, scrolling throughh Facebook, Twittter, BIMMERPOST, ect. It also gives access to an iphone app called ConnectedApp which allows iDrive to record performance numbers, lap times, acceleration, braking etc via the acceleroeter in your iphone.. What I had re-coded: 1.DVD in Motion (No more "For safety, blah blah" when driving while a DVD is playing... 2.If I HOLD the LOCK button onthe FOB my mirrors and windows close and they close in half the time as the window used to (0.5 secods) 3.If I HOLD the UNLOCK button on the FOB the mirrors and windows open very quickly 4. No more annoying "seatbelt gong". While I always wear my belt, It's a PITA when Im literally going around the corner at 20mph to get milk. 5. "Euro style" turn signals...They now blink 3 quick flashes then pause 3 quick flashes, etc. 6. Eliminated that tiny orange running light in the corner of the front head light. 7. Got rid of iDrive disclaimer screen. 8. EVERYTHING ELSE I PROB FORGOT. LOL If anyone in the NY/NJ area needs custom coding, contact STEVE @ 917-939-4980... When you hear the flat rate he charges, you will think you heard wrong, that's all I can say... Immediately after getting coded, I stopped at Best Buy at the end of Bay Parkway in Brooklyn (Beautiful view BTW) and picked up this classic to "listen to" on the way home bc of course I would be watching a video while driving (duh)

Ordered the "Elm327 wifi/obd2" interface and a few apps. I now have full access to EVERY engine parameter in realtime including but not limited to:
Vehicle speed RPM MAF MAP INTAKE AIR TEMP OIL TEMP TIMING ADV/RTRD LAMBDA A/F RATIO O2 sensors voltage Co2 emissions Instant mpg Avg mpg inc idle & w/o idle Cat temp (est) Vaccuum /boost Hp & torque estimates based on correct weight & driver input, and gear ratios Much more... The hardware which I've seen for $75-200 on bimmian, was 15.99 + $5 on amazon, and arrived after 2 days...Sortware was free for some, others were $20 tops... Because times be short, only used "dash command" so far which was plug and play. But d/l'd OBD2 link, OBD FUSION, and REV. Once I enter the correct ip addresses and subnet masks w/ a static connection ill have those running as well. Each seems to have its own cool features... Also updating software to have "connected apps" so I can monitor these parameters on my in dash TV... Great way to gauge mods improvements etc Pics later...

Some Pics of The OBDII interface w/ Dash Command...
The small adaptor plugs directly into your OBD2 Port...I included a few Screen shots of Dash Command, Although this is a TINY fraction of what even this APP is capable of...
Some things that really surprised me... When Driving anywhere over 30mph, the intake temp, stays within 10-15*F of the outside air temp. (Sitting still the intake temp obviously climbs north of 140*F) Also, the claim of the stock "pressurized air box" seems to be true....At WOT between 3000-6000 RPM's at any speed over 60mph, the plenum pressure actually hits about 1psi of "boost", after that as the RPM's climb the engine is obviously sucking too much air to sustain positive pressure.... But in all my years of tuning N/A engines, obviously a well built car commonly can hit 0, or briefly come out of vacuum, but I have NEVER seen a N/A engine actually achieve positive intake manifold pressure of a full pound of pressure... Question to all the S65 tuners out there? Is this possible? If so, is it common? I have AFE stage 2 intake w/ Prodry Filter in OEM "Pressurized" air box... Noticed the engine also maintains a perfect A/F ratio of around 14.7 to 1 at idle and obviously get's slightly richer at WOT. So I'm assuming leaning out the A/F at WOT could safely extract some power and add fuel economy... And the ignition timing also seems to advance A LOT, sometimes as much as 40*+...Never does the ECU retard the timing from 0. Obviously as the engine, and intake air get hotter, the timing advance is less, but still incredibly high. Is this normal? Or could it indicate a pre existing tune? Or is a 40* advance a mis-reading or glitch? Have always suspected a tune, as I've never had a top speed limiter, and power output has always seemed to be much higher than other e92's I've encountered w/ similar mods or sometimes more... However, I've had the car at the dealership several times and even asked if it had a tune the first time, as I didn't want my warranty voided bc they discovered a tune that was with the car at the time of sale... The answer from my SA was, "No, I had it checked out for you and the ECU software is stock"... Any insight from tuners familiar with the stock metrics of the engine untuned would be appreciated... (Notice in pic #2 the MAX VAC/BOOST achieved)

Its was unavoidable bro, with the exposure rate on the iphone 5c when trying to take a clear pic of an extremely dark object and extremely light object, I had to filter the crap out of it or one would be too dark or the other too light.

Can you point me in the right direction for the bit above? I want to upgrade/check that I have the latest software, but I am unaware of how you did this yourself. I checked the My BMW site and could not find anything, also searched here for a DIY and found nothing. Any help is appreciated, maybe you would make a DIY? Thanks, and keep up to awesome work |

I should have clarified, but I found out later the update I did was not for the newest engine software (240E), but for the idrive, navigation, entertainment system... Click Here. Enter your VIN# and put the file on a USB stick, then plug that USB stick into the middle console USB port and on iDrive goto "Update Software" youll see the progress and BOOM your done...I think it update some minor engine parameters as well as I did notice a smoother driveability and the MPG clearly was higher, but the temps have also dropped which may be the reason for this...

Mode Diffuser Installed...
Installed the new Mode LM rear diffuser last night...
Fitment was 8 out of 10, not as good as I would expect for such an expensive piece but much better than the last cheap diffuser I sized up to the bumper... At the end of the day, love the look...Really flows well with the factory lines completes the look I was aiming for... Without further ado...

UUC Evo Short Shift Kit ARRIVED...
Got my UUC SSK & a weighted ZHP knob today from a fellow forum member. Got a great deal, and the knob was an unexpected treat. Considering getting the f30 aluminum/carbon fiber/alacantra shift knob to better match the interior but giving the ZHP a fair chance first...
Also ordered the DSSR selector rod, along with an OEM disc, throw out bearing, and pressure plate for my transmission job. (They all work fine, but might as well replace while I have the chance.) Considered switching to a lightened flywheel, but considering the short gearing and the high rev power band of the s65, I feel the decreased rotating mass and momentum, would have more negatives than positives. If someone has experience with the lightened flywheel and disagrees, I'd love to hear your opinion... Here are a few pics of the SSK...

Coming soon: Swapping my OEM section 2 "X-pipe" + Cash & labor with a fellow forum member next week for his Fabspeed secondary cat/resonator delete. Going to maintain the stock primaries for now. After I hear the Fabspeed X-pipe w/ the CNT axle-back, ill decide if I want to install or sell the ACM test pipes, HFC's, or leave the OEM cats.
Love the current sound, a tad bit louder would be even better up top (above 7k RPM's) but I like being able to drive next to police officers without worrying about getting pulled over, so we'll see...
