Nice kits Roman...
What kit would you advise for a DCT?? I hear going over 600bhp could blow the transmission.

The transmission can handle the power, the issue is how it operates with the added power during agressive driving and downshifting. We recommend running our DCT software with the VT2-600 and require it for the VT2-625. We do have customers running the VT2-600 with stock DCT software without issue but given the option the car will perform better with it.

DCT software is included on any VT2-600 and 625 car that is brought to us for installation and is an option that can be added to the VT1-535, VT2-550 and VT2-575.

I'm quite impressed about your new VT2-550 kit and it's pricing. This seems to be a very good option for everybody who likes a serious power increase within the native traction capabilities of the car.

Seriously: You have the opportunities to approach Vortech for some special engineering. Any chance for a super-quiet charger variant for VT1 and VT2-550 kits ?

I expect running this kit with 4 psi should provide 500-520 bhp . Just a small amount of boost, low IAT's, a serious power increase and quiet operation is all what I'm looking for. I had to learn that stroking the S65 is not an option for me, currently.

Thanks,
Eugen

WOW

Great job guys, you guys are truly making it easier by providing so many options. 5lbs with intercooler and 550hp sounds great.

Hi Eugen,

The V3Si we use is already virtually impossible to hear with the hood closed. Noise is not an issue at all with the existing SC unit IMHO.

Web videos does not really represent actual noise levels well due to the excessive frequency amplification often seen. In real life the V3Si unit can hardly be heard with hood closed. From inside the car it is completely inaudible. I suggest you test drive a ESS VT equipped car and see for yourself.

Extremely extremely quiet! You cannot hear it at all with bonnet closed.
There is also no blow off sound when off throttle.
When really stomping on it, ad changing gears with DCT at 8300rpm, then you can hear a slight whistle, buts it's very discreet, no boy racer shit.

Just one question:

What is the hardware difference between a VT2 550, 575 and 600?
I know the software tune for all three is identical (good for 4,5-7lb boost), fuel injectors are the larger size for all three.
The only difference as far as I can see, is boost pressure and pulley size right?

I realise that the VT2 625 has a new tune good for 7,5lb boost, and even bigger fuel injectors than the 535,550,575 and 600 kits.

Here's vid of mine idling:

Hi AJ.. How are ya? You must remember me from the 330 ZHP with the ASA Supercharger (Charcoal grey 2003 in Cali). I bought a new M3. How is that supercharger running on the new M3 Motor compared to my older Supercharger on my 330 ZHP? We had a major dip problem if you remember on that 330 ZHP and I seem to see a small one here as well on this unit. Can you chime in...?

You never had a ESS SC kit on your ZHP, you had a Technik kit and I tried to help you out because it did not run properly. You should be accurate when you post information on a public forum. Your car ran much better after I tried to help you address a few issues with the kit. 330 ZHP's were notorious for mid range power dips from the factory, the ESS 330 ZHP supercharger system completely eliminates that. There are no power dips in the ESS E90 M3 at all, our power curves are smoother than stock.

Here's vid of mine idling:

The tune is different for all stages. The VT2-550 uses the same injectors as the VT1-535. The 575 and 600 has larger injectors than 535/550 and the VT2-625 has even larger again.

575 and up uses a higher spec bypass valve than 535/550 as well.

And finally, the pulley configurations differ between stages.

The Vortech V3si is a quiet blower for the amount of power it was designed to provide. Most customers are suprised at how quiet the VT series kits are during operation. If you want to get a feel for how they perform and how they sound you should arrange to see it in person or talk to customers who own them. I am sure they can answer most of the questions you have.

Thanks AJ!! Now it makes sense
I wish I could get you out to me to do the DCT tune and upgrade to 625.

Power is so addictive, making 500whp now on 5,8psi boost. I can only imagine what 7,5psi and 580whp must feel like.

Loving every minute of my SC. You guys have made such an impressive kit

I barely hear it aswell , super quiet !! The exhaust has more of a note....(@idle )
And driving it you would never know there was a supercharger on the car , once you romp on it then it a different story ..

The things that I love most about my kit is ,
1) smooth smooth smooth power band !!
2) quiet , very quiet
3) how stock the hardware makes the engine bay look !!!
4) this is where it I get my kicks :::: the power ::::

And bob I'm sure If you provide a plane ticket and a nice dinner w/ a bottle of wine ( AJ's choice ) anything is possible , hehehehehhe
