Super car performance? Maybe. It is still a mass produced Chevy. Not even close to being on the level of a real super car overall.

Production base C8s have also had bad panel fitment issues.

Again, everything so far about the car labels it as a supercar besides the price. We can agree to disagree but I bet more people would say it is than those that say no. Hell there’s some dudes on the corvette forum with actual exotics saying it is.

A stingray isn’t a supercar.

The z06 is. We’re never going to agree so if you think it isn’t then it isn’t to you.

People are buying this because it’s gm’s first supercar.

Never was there this much interest and craze over one car before. Not even with the one year only model c7zr came out.

This is in a different league. A supercar league.

Nah, might even be worse for stingrays.

The z06 is basically “sold out” for at least 3 years min. Combine that with the price people who originally through would be 89k or so will now either wait for an eray, which we don’t know pricing or any real info. Or they can get a stingray.

The demand will drive costs up, used market at least. New allocations will be harder for those who can wait, and get one at msrp.

Which is what I’m doing. My build is 80k. The same spec and build of a used stingray is still 95-105. For a used one.

Im thinking the economy tanking; combined with much higher finance rates will soften demand across the board. We can also add the fact that the supply chain should strengthen later in 2023… and the e-ray will further absorb demand. Im thinking that by 2024 we'll be able to get a Stingray allocation pretty easily. We'll have to see!

a stingray below msrp probably won't happen for a bit. eventually it will happen though. i just saw the production numbers and its already past 70,000. they made half as many f80 m3s for the world.

The fact that people are paying $230k for a Hummer EV or $150k for a Rivian truck just completely blows my mind. Those things are going to be worth like 70% of their MSRP in 2-3 years. The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.

People thought it'd get better this year, in 2022. It hasn't.

Because the corvette is supposed to be "high volume", even a week shutdown at the plant can set things back dramatically.

I do believe the ERAY will absorb some demand but don't forget, a lot of people have NO desire for a hybrid corvette. They might not agree to the price (for all we know it'll be 92k etc), and the ERAY could very well be as tough to get as a z06.

I said it before that the stingray craze is far from over. I suspect towards the end of calendar year 2024 or even sometime in 2025 is when we might see some normalization with stingrays.

But i doubt it. This has been special to witness when they debuted the stingray back in summer 2019. 3 years later and it's still as crazy.

I know not everyone cares about corvettes but man it's cool to be a part of this lol. We welcome any new corvette fans.

I don't think the economy is going to "tank." Are we going to see a recession, yeah I think so.

Is it going to be 2008 all over again or worse? Don't think so.

70%? Try 50%. The rate of EV tech development is going to make the hummer seem like even more of a joke than it is in that time frame.

It might take a bit longer with the Hummer EV, but I agree with the premise. People are nuts buying BEVs now; especially hyper-expensive EVs.

Buying any EV is silly. Leasing is the only way I'd get in something electric.

Certainly possible and normally I'd say less than 50% but they're so far over MSRP right now that it would take a giant market swing to drop quite that far. Either way, it's hilariously stupid.

the Z06 isn't a supercar. Never will be. Never was. C6ZR1/C7Z06/C7ZR1 was GM's first step into supercar performance, sure.

I agree. I leased my model 3.

And I’m already planning on the plaid next so we’ll see how those lease numbers look.

But for a toy, definitely the c8z as your affordable supercar.

Same price, performance etc, would you buy the Chevy or something like a Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc?

I'm not taking the Chevy...

Corvettes have offered equal or better performance than Ferraris for half or a 1/3 or the price.

If the zora is a reality, that price point will be 200k and will shatter everything in sight when talking about hybrid/ice not including any hyper ev cars.

There is no comparison. Corvettes have been at supercar peformance for decades, dating back to the c5 in my opinion.

The c8z is when it’s finally dressed in a supercar attire while, we hope, to still carry the supercar performance like in the past.

I don’t know why it’s so hard to accept. More people will agree it’s a supercar finally. If you don’t then you don’t.

You can keep saying that you think it's a super car. But your claim about other peoples' opinions is obviously unfounded.

It's a Corvette, it's not a super car. The Zora won't be either.

Don't waste your time replying to him. His is the king Vette nut swinging, fanboy ever. They should give him the first one made for free. Lol. He had to get his first blow job in 1 or something. It's deep in his soul this love for the Chevy unicorn 🦄 It's all good. I just know being a car guy and growing up with friends who are car guys, if someone asked a 1000 people if you could have any car what would it be? ZERO would pick any Vette. Which answers the question of super car or not to me. Some people dream and some dream big😉🤣
