I am quite surprised and frustrated. We have done so much to promote this kit and it's been nothing short of the best option.

I am going to see what I can do.. will try to see if Harrop would be willing to make a final batch of a few kits and we will just hold them here.

That would be fantastic and they hopefully will recognize the brand positive work you and this kit has had for them here in the US. Keep me in the loop. I just threw down a huge tax bill or I would pop instantly on your last kit so really hoping you can get another one coming.

Hey Mike! We've talked before about obtaining a kit and I wasn't sure to pull the trigger last year or this year after my wedding.

I will 100% put a down payment on one (4K+) if the option to purchase a new kit came around for later this year and then we can settle up the rest of the money.

This is a kit I've been wanting for sometime and it's very unfortunate to find out this is happening. Do your best to find out and if one 'final' batch of kits could be made, thanks!

For those that are seriously interested in the kit, shoot me a call or text. I will do my best to coordinate a final production run of 5 or so kits as to not shatter any M3 dreams.. I know I would be pretty sad myself if I was looking forward to getting this kit and then wasn't able to. This kit is a game changer. Will do my best to sort something out for everyone on an individual basis

That's the confusing bit. Before I bought my kit last year, I e-mailed them asking how long they planned to be making the kit. They responded they had no plans to stop production due to high demand for the kit, and only saw demand increasing as the cars age and more people are willing to mod them.

Their response made sense. That was a little under a year ago. They did mention that when they eventually stopped manufacturing the kit, they would offer parts and support for years to come.

Not sure why the sudden change in direction. Still glad to know there is a parts and support commitment from harrop.

I guess the value of my car just went up?

Well- I think I have found the answer here. It's the impending EPA clampdown on performance parts. I sent an e-mail to harrop trying to get clarification about the situation. The short story is the kit is NOT ending production, but they are PAUSING sales in the US market.

"Thanks for the feedback on your supercharger kit I’m glad to hear you are still enjoying it and plan on doing so for many years to come. Due to current regulations in the emissions space in the USA we are pausing sales on new kits and evaluating emission requirements. This kit will still be sold to the rest of the world and parts will continue to be available and can be sourced directly from Harrop USA. Please let me know if I can help assist you with any thing further. "

Had a very constructive conference call with Harrop today. Working out the logistics but I think that we'll be able to secure some final kits for those interested. Working on getting a final batch of 5-10 kits to hold here.

The situation was mainly prompted by emissions compliance issues. Unfortunately it's not financially feasible to go through the CARB certification process on a lower volume kit. I will get back to everyone that PMed or emailed to secure a kit tomorrow and we'll get the ball rolling.

We will continue to see if there is another method or angle for future supply in the US.

Sounds great. Maybe an off-road signed waiver, or selling it more a la carte grouped pieces instead of a whole kit, like some E36 turbo guys do could be options in the short-term.

If Mike's able to secure more, I have one piece of advice - PULL THE TRIGGER. Buying this kit from him last December was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
