Hi Alex, I would like to ask a question for you.

I've been looking at the Karbonius intake, there is a thread from a buying group that was made here at m3post and the truth is that it looks amazing. I was wondering that being of greater air capacity than the oem, with your standard Stage2 it would be enough or you could finish adjusting the map more to get the maximum possible performance to the intake.

According to karbonius:

- Weight:
• BMW Stock intake (airbox + tube + airfilter cover): 6,677 gr
• Karbonius intake (airbox + tube+ airfilter cover): 3,635 gr.

- Power:
• Karbonius S65 Airbox: +9HP*
• Karbonius S65 Airbox + Alpha-N mapping: +32HP*
*This data is approximate and depends on the state of the vehicle

How about? I would like to know your opinion.

Regards

Just got my Alpine stage 1 tune on my car. As a note, my old E92 had an Alpine tune on it, but I've been running this new car bone stock for 3.5 months. After the tune, everything felt right in the world while driving the car. Steering feels perfect, I can rev match with no effort, it picks up hard at low RPMs, then coupled with the new intake, has a serious snarl at the upper RPMs. Can't wait to get the test pipes on and slap the stage 2 onto it.

Couple other notes, his notes mention turning off ignition until the fuel gauge is off, I just pull the key entirely to power off the car. Had some problems on my old car if I didn't do this. His new method of tune delivery feels a little more impersonal, but I can't fault his speed and efficiency. And he is still very responsive. Acceptable trade off, as I imagine his business has picked up quite a bit.

The factory intake system on the E9X M3 is plenty impressive already from the factory. Factory intake is sealed cold air somewhat of a ram system to the front grills of the vehicle. Most of the gains you see can be achieved with just changing the drop in filter on the stock intake.

Weight savings in the engine bay is a added bonus and the carbon fiber depending on the type and thickness used might work as a better shield against heat. Sound improvements are also great.

You can tell if the ignition is on or off by just looking at the fuel gauge, if the fuel gauge is reading this means the ignition is on. If the fuel gauge is down that means it is off.

Business unfortunately is slower then before. Being in business for so many years, offering unlimited map requests for the life of the car, and abusers of the system made it impossible to keep up. Although I have a cancer that is not deadly I did end up losing one of my vocal cords (and many other less essential body parts) to it and regaining the ability to speak fully and express myself has been difficult. My personal cell is readily available to anyone and because of this I wake up to an unbelievable amount of text messages and I tend to respond with very short quick responses that might be offensive to some and my tone over text might be picked up in the wrong fashion. Believe me I would love to be more 1 on 1 with everyone.

Damn, that really sucks. I lost my sister almost 10 years ago to Ewing's sarcoma, cancer really can just go to hell. Hope things get better, soon! And no offense taken with this new style, I actually like the simplicity of getting a new map.

I was one of those that thought your initial response was, not offensive, but could've been handle differently. Now I understand why. Knowing what I know now, I would've thought differently.

I am glad to support your business!

All the best, Alex, and keep fighting!

Hey Alex, I've been eyeing your tune for a while now. I'm waiting to install my test pipes before getting a tune for my car. Question: do you need a PC laptop to upload the tune? I have a MacBook and I'm not sure how that affects being able to upload the tune.

That aside, wishing you all the best with your health. Your clients' positive reactions speaks volumes to your dedication and hard work.

Thank you.

The program is windows based, but I have video instructions to install a very small virtual machine onto your Mac that can run the program

Alex make no mistake, you are da man. Been enjoying my tune for ages. In the 50s weather I'm getting now, this car pulls and growls like a beast.

For people running e85, do you guys cycle through 91/93 every couple of months?

I was told to do this in my previous e85 vehicles.

If you can cycle every 3-5 tanks. The key is to keep the fuel moving. Don't let the E85 sit in your tank if you plan on parking the car for more then two days.

Months later, and the Alpine gadgets are still fantastic and probably my favorite changes done to the car. Free bump for Alex.

I ran E85 for years with no problems on my previous car. You don't need to worry about it unless you plan on parking it during the winter. Ethanol loves to collect moisture, so just have a full tank if it going to sit for a few weeks. Any longer than that get 91/93 back in your tank.

On the E9X platform I would not let the car sit for more then few days with E85 in the tank. As long as you are using the vehicle it is fine. I am also a overly cautious person.

I just tuned the car with Alex's stage 1 and I can most definitely feel the difference from stock. It pulls a lot harder and I'm super satisfied . Alex is great to work with and replies quick. This tune is worth every penny
