I'll give it back in the form of buying many things and paying sales tax.

Ok Mister Judge. If your smart with money you can own even a lambo and making 130k a year. I make less that that and I can save easley 30k +/- a year if I want.

This is what I was thinking. What stimulus check? I'm guessing the majority of posters on this forum will not see such a check. I have no problem with the government trying to help people in need especially when this all happened through no fault of anyone. I just have my disagreements with how the government chose to implement this stimulus bill and the resulting massive debt that it will require.

No check for me due to income levels... but what if I got laid off tomorrow?
Oh, I should have savings? Maybe I do... maybe I have over a year's worth? Should I use that to pay rent and be responsible? Sounds a bit unfair... cmon now people. ...some people are getting free money and their store's revenue is increasing... welcome to anytime dumb asses do a stimulus in this country |

I agree in the fact of helping people but the unfortunate part is that there is no way to sort through it all so blanket checks just start going out.
I hope that it comes out of what people will get refunded for the next tax year. If my taxes go up I'm going to be absolutely infuriated. Each quarter I lose around 48% of my bonuses and don't even like to look at my W-2 to see how much is lost in total each year. I'm not in for picking up the tab on this stimulus package. As others have said, nothing is free especially when it comes to the government so they will find a way to get it back. |

I got my check this morning. Already spent. I bought cigarettes, toilet paper, scratch-off lottery tickets and a phone call to psychic hotline. To up my level of intelligent spending, I didn't even scratch the lottery tickets. When I talked to my tele-psychic, she told me none of the scratch-offs were winners so I just threw them away; maybe next time. She did tell me that someone in my family recently died (thank god she told me, I had no clue) and that I would be receiving "a gift" from this family member. You guys keep your fancy financial planning and whatnot. The Psychic Hotline has my back. She even knew that I like things and doing stuff!

Someone makes $100k/yr. The limit for single filers to get anything is $99k. They get nothing. Someone makes over $200k/yr. They own a business or incorporate and distribute income: <$99k/yr personal income, >$100k corporate income. They get the full amount because they only look at personal income. Essentially, those who don't make as much, but too much to qualify, get nothing. Those who make twice as much and own a business or make enough to incorporate get the full amount. Not only that, but they could have (before funding ran out) got an SBA to help float through the quarantine! It's a very complicated situation. A lot of us probably got checks while being well over the income limit.

But then I'm jaded. I see a lot of people walking around doing nothing all day, but collecting my money that I pay in taxes. Mine and everyone else who actually contributes. So if I take a little back and there's less for them, so be it. Maybe they'll go get a job. Ah, who am I kidding, my government will just print and borrow more money, devaluing my savings. Penalize the smarter, more responsible person. Makes sense. |

I don't know if 99k is the threshold for full amount. Maybe the threshold for receiving anything at all?
My AGI on last year's tax return was mid 90k. The stim check I received was only a couple hundred |

$99k single filer was the limit to get anything. $75k was the limit for the full amount.
