True, they have replicated, and now. They are being replicated.......they use the same material as those twain made parts. A3-4 layers of fiberglass with a face of carbon fiber. I have busted open my 1 piece v-csl lipe to proove this and have posted pictures. So all of Vorstieners there parts are actually "Not Full Carbon fiber"....Sadly to say that is

I think their trunk lid is a good value and I would definitely pay the premium to get an OEM-like fitment. But like everyone else, paying over $1000 for a lip that is going to get raped by rocks, old tires, speed bumps, curbs, low driveways and various debris is a little much to ask. I think someone forgot that some people actually drive their cars and they don't just sit in a show booth looking pretty. .

Vorsteiner! Let's solve this problem! SCREW THOSE TAIWAN REPLICA BY DOING A GROUP BUY.
30 CF Front Lip and Diffuser @ $500 each! That way anyone will have Vorsteiner products and soon those company in taiwan will run out of business! |

IMO Vorst. lip looks the worst out of all the aftermarket lips. Id rather get rep. 3d/hamann/etc instead.

Sometimes! Some of those knock-off cereal brands receive their product from the same manufacturers as the name brand companies. You're paying for the name, not always improved quality. People tend to equate higher cost with better quality, and that is not always the case. Perception is a killer!

For instance, I know for a fact that Gap clothing are made in taiwan and ship over here. All Gap does is sew their name onto the shirt or whatever to make it 10x more expensive. |

Although quite often you get what you pay for.
I'm not saying higher price equals better quality and there's many examples when it doesn't. But more often than not I find that it does.

What's the Vorsteiner lip made from? Is it a layer of carbon over fiberglass (half carbon ... or less)? If so then, it is my opinion, that it is pretty overpriced, though of course many can afford it and are willing to pay it.
Reverie makes dry carbon lips for the Lotus Elise that are pretty expensive, but made in Japan, full dry carbon, and light as *#@%. After that one shattered on me, I was less hell bent on highest quality in a front splitter and ordered a half carbon version for a fraction of the cost. Fit's just fine and looks the same. I've told myself that I'm going to avoid the modding bug with the M3, but I'm afraid that it's in my blood. If I do get a lip, I'm not paying that much for one that is half carbon. |
