Sounds like a good ride - out of town and havent driven mine in a few days - looks like we might get some mild weather for at least a couple of days so will have to take advantage when I am back in town! Merry Christmas to Everyone! |

It is supposed to get to 11 degrees today! I think I might have to go for a drive with the top down if it dries up enough this afternoon. Anyone else interested?

If I was in town definitely would have been interested - did you end up going? Top down? Was out of town so dont know what the weather ended up being like. All I know is was a crappy drive back from Ottawa! Rain and Fog most of the way. |

Temperature wise it was nice but pretty much wet/foggy most of the day here too. Still managed to get out for a drive under the guise of running some errands though. Just passed 600kms so still a ways to go before she is broken in... but going on a trip up to Barrie and back tomorrow so that will help.
We'll definitely have to setup a meet/cruise soon if the weather ever cooperates.

not exactly top down weather, to me its not worth opening the roof, if I HAVE to have the heater on full blast and my fingers and other body parts are still cold...not to mention you look foolish! Be patient...my .02 cents (believe me, I wanna drop the top as bad you do, but not at the cost of being freezing cold and not even being able to enjoy it)

Just saw (just before 11am) an AW e90 M3 going East on Dundas at Prince Michael (East of Trafalgar). Didnt get a good look at it as I heard the engine roar and looked up. They were trying to beat the light. Looked to have tinted windows.
Just coming out of Starbucks - of course!! |

Patience is not my best virtue. I actually did go for a drive yesterday with the top down. The temp said 10 degrees, but it felt much warmer. Didn't have to put on gloves or a hat, and was able to get 45 mins on the highways before the rain came. Sure I looked foolish, but to be honest I don't really care what other people were thinking, I just wanted to enjoy the car...and I almost forgot how great the engine sounds when the top is down.

I thought I was hardcore - today in Collingwood I saw a guy on his Harley with an open face helmet, and it was 2 degrees. He was at a stoplight and was actually smoking a cirgarette. Needless to say I don't think anyone was laughing at him though.

Took delivery of my SSII in June from Budds and just loving it. I live in Burlington and my plate is "F1 RACIN". As you can tell I am a big Formula 1 fan. For those in Burlington or Oakville, we should get together sometime.

Short answer is $$$.
Longer answer has to do with lots of politics, plus the track surface is in rough shape and needs to be replaced. That can get overcome with funds, but all the new races added to the calendar are investing huge $$$ to new tracks and facilities, and while Montreal is a drivers and fan favourite, it does not make F1 the same money as all the newer circuits. Unfortunately the city (Montreal), province (Quebec) and feds all have to cooperate in order to get the race back. Don't hold you breath....

And with no US race either, looks like overseas is the only option for live F1....
On the bright side I have seen all kinds of e9x M3's in the past few days, not to mention Ferrari's, Lambo's, and even a couple of SLR's - gotta love South Beach! |

South Beach! I am jealous. What a great way to spend New Years. Are you heading down to the keys as well?
Without any NA F1 races I think it is time to go watch Monaco before they pull that race from the calendar as well.

Yeah thanks - new years here was pretty wild - a good chunk of Ocean was blocked off. I think we are just going to hang out in South Beach and wonder a little bit around the Miami area - no plans to head down to the keys. Its going to be tough coming back to the cold weather. Not to rub it in but driving around in a vert has been pretty nice!
Yes - Monaco would be sweet - I am hoping to hit an F1 in Europe in the next year or so - seems like when we head to Europe on vacation we miss the closest event by a week or so (I think my wife does this on purpose!!) |

Here are pics from my drive on the 27th.
Yesterday when I was driving home we had huge snow flakes. I now think that a good photo op will be some pics with the top down in some light snow. Gotta get a DSLR now as my PAS camera is not up to par.
