Shitty tuner did a shitty tune. Dynotronics in new braunfels is an ecutek dealer and offered a free tune in exchange of developing software for the car since i was one of the first guys in tx to get my hands on a FR-S. I accepted and after 3 months of running the tune at the track piston #2 cracked and the piston ring shot up the valve, this was caused because the tune was too lean. Get a free tune they said . Only engine mods were a tune, trd drop in, motiv test pipe, invidia exhaust, and AP pulley. Good thing is im getting it warrantied, i should have it back in a couple of weeks.
Here are some pics of the car before the mishap:

Wow...pretty full-bore! Very lucky on getting the damage fixed under warranty, too. I know that engine is a "boxer" design similar to Subaru, so it's a shame that this happened to such a new engine.
Notice you have a Boxster as well...I had a '97, one of the first delivered in Austin back then. Great car, just too small for me. Should have kept my '90 944S2 Cabrio.

Yeah toyota of boerne is awesome when it comes to warranty. Its actually a subaru engine with toyota direct injection and valve timing, FA20 is the engine code. The boxster is the wifes but its so fun to drive, i took it to harris hill a couple of times all ready its more enjoyable than the M3 even though the M is faster. Here are some lap times comparing the cars @ H2R: M3 STOCK on Hankook v12's: 1:29.9 Boxster-S PDK stock: 1:31.3 FR-S (boltons, full suspension, cage, aero, bbk, slicks): 1:27.1

Don't feel bad...it was a good meet, but really dreary weather. Next month should be a lot better.

My guess is that it was a combination of the merchants in the original area feeling like it was a deterrent to non-participant customers and that there was more parking with better access over on that end.

I don't think they were passing through cause I've seen it several times at Carl's Cleaners too. I wasn't aware of this drive?

Well then, we'll have to see if we can spot whoever it is when they're parked somewhere and let them know about the club, C&R, and other BMW activities around here.
The drive next Saturday was posted on one of the other E90Post forums...I remember seeing it on one of them. If you come to C&R, I'm sure the details will be passed around.

As it turns out, I can't go either - landscaper didn't finish up last weekend, so have to be here this Saturday to make sure it all goes as planned.

Couldn't say...I didn't go (had other obligations at the house). What did you hear, exactly?

Apparently someone was doing donuts and burnouts, so I'm assuming they got reported and the rest is history

Yeah...I found something on the 3-series forum to that effect. There's talk of moving it to The Rim or somewhere else with enough room and maybe setting up some sort of "security" where they'll have someone on hand to apprehend/arrest the idiots, maybe tow their cars, etc.
