What group was this posted on? Most of the facebook community consists of guys who own 335i and lower anyways who think they can gap M3's.

93 Octane, but I'm pretty sure my tune is for 91 octane, i'd have to double check because I got the tune when living in Canada and 93 is not too popular as it is here in FL.

DYNO RESULTS ARE IN!!
I am happy to say these headers made power over the entire range and sound great in my opinion, it adds raw engine sounds and more motor noises without being insanely loud like a few setups I've heard. My goal is to have a Eisennman Race to replace the CNT racing one day: +15whp / +8wtq in hotter conditions 96F vs 93F, same 40% humidity Before & After Overlays: STD: SAE: Notes on the install are on my blog, there were major issues with the length pbonsalb & SAMM3Y called it, the end of the end pipes were too long on one side and required cutting, pictures in part 2 link below:
ebay link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/232627578439 I am planning to have AA in Miami do a custom tune for me in the fall maybe.

So it’s +15 rwhp and +8 lbs rwtq from headers and midpipe over testpipes. The CNT rear exhaust was used with the testpipes and new system.
I’d guess a catless x-pipe would be worth 10 rwhp over test pipes and ~5 lbs rwtq. Based on that, I’d say the headers and “larger” diameter piping midpipe are worth ~5-10 rwhp and maybe ~5 lbs rwtq over stock headers and the typical catless x-pipe. Still worthwhile for someone chasing every gain or someone who is thinking about buying testpipes or an x-pipe. This outgains testpipes or a standard x-pipe for the price of a standard x-pipe. |

great job!!! If you are going to have aa custom tune it, please get baseline numbers so you can see the delta. Peak numbers are awesome, but the midrange is where you will feel the most difference. I thing a custom tune for 93oct will also wake the car up.

I would also say that with the headers, the potential is greater if a tune is done to take advantage of the headers. Others have proved that a custom tune for the headers can make more power over an off the shelf tune.

I agree, I am hoping when AA does the custom dyno and they can do it on their dyno and provide before and after. I will not pay again to do more dynos. Yes 93 for sure, I would consider E85 but i don't think AA plays with that. I also dont want to be stuck with E85 only.

Just read through the blog, nice work. Looking at the ebay link when they line up all the pipes 1 side is clearly shorter than the other. I wonder if all of them turn out like that or it was just a packaging fluke.
Great power gains for the price. For totally stock exhaust guys who don't care about being catless, putting $300-400 into test pipes instead of $975~ for all this becomes are harder pill to swallow. The ultimate comparison now would be these headers vs the name brands on the same car/dyno. Doubt that will ever happen though. |

Would there be the possibility to mount the Becker headers togheter to an akra evo exhaust line? It could be a good combo

Once again this is inline what others have gotten. A catted header system is probably 10rwhp stronger than just a test pipe with rear cats still in place. The good news is if you look at the dyno it gains that 10-15rwhp from 4500rpm and up, not just peak horsepower.
I never doubted this, the issues is removing the headers every smog test will become quite a chore. The test pipes are really the best of both worlds. If I had a lift I would consider it to swapping it out every 2 years. BTW bro, beautiful car!! Dave

Nice gains for the price, I wonder how much it would help on a supercharged motor.

100% agree! Solid gains for sure, even after accounting for the removal of the secondary cats. If one had a lift, this would be a great mod if not for the sound alone.

Hmmm, you're tempting to sell my IPE F1 mid section and pick up a set of these...
How secure do you feel the copper nuts are on there? I noticed the OEM designs has a sort of "countersunk" surface due to the design of the header flanges whereas this design is a flat plate. Do the header mounting studs on the block protrude enough to get a secure fit with the copper nuts? Thanks for doing all of this btw! |
