A recent survey of CEO's, what they say in private, not their public message.

Quote:
But the Biden economy, as these CEOs that I just shared that data with you showed that 85% of them tell us that this is the strongest economy not only in their lifetime but the Biden economy they were handed was the strongest in American history and the strongest in the world. That's what 85% of CEOs say other than - no matter what Howard Lutnick says. We haven't had unemployment this low from the Biden years since "Bonanza" was the "No. 1" show on television in 1968.
How they feel about the current economy with the tariffs

Quote:
SONNENFELD: Whereas the exact people, you know, a hundred of them, whether or not the CEOs of JPMorgan, Pfizer, Dell, Goodyear, Duke Energy, Stanley Black & Decker, Steelcase and others, ADP, American Airlines, they're going quite candidly with each other about what dismay they have. We also had 60 major city U.S. mayors with them to keep everybody honest.

They are very discouraged. Eighty percent of them said they find themselves apologizing to our international partners for Trump's capriciousness and 85% say the Biden economy that Trump was handed was a strong legacy. And roughly 70% say that the Trump administration is going to be bad for the economy, and they're very concerned. [...] 92% Of them say that they are increasingly concerned that the U.S. economy is headed towards a recession.

The drivers of the economy are more psychological than numbers. Numbers are the output, but psychology is the input.

you will have to help me understand how a business executive / ceo feeling helps the average joe on the street which is having a tough time making ends meet and has been due to inflation...

The average joe on the street has almost no bearing on whether we enter a recession or how long that recession will be. I'm not unsympathetic to that person's plight but they aren't an economic driver.

80-90 of 100+ CEO's, who collectively employ hundreds of thousands of american workers, feeling skittish about the economy due to tariffs and federal cuts causes the recession all by itself.

Posts getting nuked left and right either by a database error or a new anti-political moderation stance?

I posted a pretty innocuous (from a political standpoint) post about egg supply chain that got disappeared earlier.

1) It isn't a new policy:

https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1753661

https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...postcount=8719

2) I've heard that banned camp is a very lonely place.

3) There are 23 listed admins/moderators from all over the world in the off-topic section, plus who knows how many unlisted admins/moderators. The odds of drawing the ire of one of these diverse volunteers is pretty high. See #2 above about banned camp being a lonely place.....

Yeah but there was no reason to remove the post. All I said that could even be construed as political is that egg distributors are gouging prices based on the amount of publicity chicken cullings have been getting.

I'm betting on a database error. Happens fairly often on these large forums.

I removed my posts. AFAIK, I have never had a moderator remove any post of mine or had any warnings or infractions directed at me specifically. Occasionally, I decide to lower my social media presence and cull my posts. Like the poultry.

Does anyone have any idea what the pump w TSLA is lol?

This company has 0 good news coming towards it with sales down in virtually every country lol and the chinese eating their lunch... if this was valued like a car company stock it would be worth $30 a share at most.

Ford sold 2M cars last year or 10% more than Tesla and is at $10 per share.

that sounded more like a political comment than anything to do w the stock itself...

it doesn't matter who is who... when the core fundamentals of the company are absolutely awful by just about every metric... in 2021, said person had nothing to do w the government and yet the stock went 10x in value... what lol

Pumping tesla stock is a direct bribe to Elon musk. If you think anything else you are a rube. His ownership stake is large and his compensation as a ceo is primarily in the form of stock.

There is no politics in the above statement or the prior post.

Yeah, but when has Tesla's valuation ever really made sense? The one time I touched it, I got burned, so I'm staying away. I cannot predict where it is going to go, it makes little sense given the underlying fundamentals.

And Elon is so mercurial - I think part of the valuation is this hope that he's going to introduce the next best thing under the Tesla brand...but why? Why wouldn't he just create a new company for it...he's done it before, and its making him money. At this point, I wonder if we might see a return to normalcy of Tesla stock price (which will be hundreds of dollars below what it is trading), but probably not, because the whole thing is inexplicable.

This is pretty much exactly how I see it... it has a tech company valuation as opposed to a car company as it was originally grouped together w the other tech companies... as this would be a company that brings in new future tech... those days are long over now tho as competition has long caught up...there are no fundamentals that give the company its value and it never made any sense to me at all... i think at this point, it just remains the status as a favorite pump stock.
