I'm aware. If I could get a 4RS at $175k I'd have bought it already, but people were comparing MSRP so yeah...

718 GT4 is about as fast as my SS 1LE around a track. GT3 is about the same as ZL1 1LE, although the newest GT3 probably bests that a bit, the GT3 RS and GT2 are probably better comparos.

And a C8Z is a better buy over the 2.

Better looking, bigger engine, better sound, more power.

You're right. When talking about actual track cars, which the C8Z is supposed to be. I guess we'll have to wait to find out some lap times, especially the ring, of what the z06 can do.

Doesn't matter how you slice it, the C8Z is the better buy, and A LOT cheaper than any other car you can think of in terms of performance.

Even if you use a 125-135k price tag of the C8Z for comparison.

Just goes to show that even with the slight price increase, a z06 is still a better bang for buck.

You think a C8Z looks better than a GT4/RS? Well, to each their own I suppose..and you’ve never driven either car but have already decided which one is better. Ok then. Both will be great cars, the Z just won’t be the bargain of the century that people thought it would be.

The wing on the GT4 looks like even more of an afterthought than the one on the Z06, which didn't even seem possible. I think the vents on the GT3/GT4/GT2 are getting a little out of hand, they are obviously searching for every possible aero advantage. The Z06 does it with some pretty out-there design obviously, but that also kind of meshes a little better with it's sharper edges. It's kind of the same with some of the newer Ferraris and our "aggressive" styling post, except some of these are just doing it searching for every possible little aero advantage and at some point, it starts to look tacky or just "too far" for a road car. That line will be different for everyone of course.

I liked the previous generation GT4 a little better for styling. I think a GTS or S is pretty decent. Same with the 911s, now that the are all getting the "widebody" treatment.

Looks is subjective but you can park both cars in a lot somewhere and everyone will gravitate towards the C8Z. Or you can park the GT4 and a stingray in a lot somewhere and everyone will gravitate towards the stingray.

A mid engine DCT car with a V8 that sounds like a ferrari making 670hp for 106k that supposedly runs 10.6 in the 1/4 for a car that's not a drag car that's rumored to run the ring at 7 minutes (we'll see), is not a bargain of century?

Give me an example of something better for the price, brand new.

Everyone, regardless of how deep your pockets are, should be pissed at GM about this pricing. They forgot it's a Chevy LOL!

Also, Tadge flat out lied. He told us all pricing increase would be in line with previous generations. They have effectively killed this car. They also just alienated most of the folks that buy Vettes. It is supposed to be America's affordable sports car. Corporate greed

What's the ZR1 going to cost, $200k+? LMAO GTFO.

I have a sub 300 spot on Ciocca's list & my low option Coupe is going to be over $130k. HTC? Over $140k! This is exotic money. Unreal...

One can option up a C8Z to north of $170k. That is highway robbery. What's even worse is people are lining up to ask to be raped without lube as if GM is ding them a favor. Idiots.

People are lining up to buy, but somehow Chevrolet "killed this car?" Sounds like you're measuring success by your own level of interest.

Remember the '90's ZR1? Great car, no one bought them. priced it outside the reach of the demographic that buys vettes.

The Aero Pack is way too hardcore for me; plus I don't like the look anyway. This means the Z07 Performance Pack is out of consideration. My spec is $126k. Amazing value IMO.

How did they lie? They priced this car based on inflation.

I would actually believe this car would've cost around 92k before inflation.

Don't forget, there are actual idiots paying 140k FOR A FUCKING M4 COMP. Now that's highway robbery.

And before people say well that's a BMW and a corvette is a chevy. That M4 started out as a fucking economy 4 series car. A 430I that onlyfans university girl is driving to school, then showing her ass when she gets off of school is essentially driving the same car minus all the performance goodies.

The C8Z is a higher performance car that is based off a base performance car. A stingray that has put a lot of more expensive cars to shame on the track, and some even in a straight line, at least 0-120 or so.

What other car can you get for 106 thousand, or fuck make it 120k that is mid engine, has a DCT trans, has a V8, sounds like a ferrari, that has almost 700hp, back by the usual GM warranty, and brand new?

Please name a few. Or better yet, just name one car. Brand new, that has the credentials better than what i just said above.

I do agree the z06 is slightly more expensive but don't forget the times we're living in now. And don't forget the performance it's capable of.

It's totally understandable people are upset at the price.

But to say it's a failure because it's about 10k more than what they wanted to pay, is fucking hilarious.

GM will sell every single one.

And actually, i hope a lot of people back out because of the 10k+ price increase because that just gets me my C8Z much faster.

i agree. i was reading on corvetteforum that some guys who are jumping ship to a used 2018 R8 V10 or 570s considering the vettes price hike. can't say i blame them. the vettes FPC v8 is nice, but there are other factors at play when people spend this much.

anyway. i'm still waiting to see what these things are on the scales. Stingray is 3650 on the scales and the z06 will likely be 3700+. I think there will definitely be a difference in feel compared to a gt4 or 570s which are both around 3200.

for sure one of the best track performance cars for the $$ and my 20 year old ZO6 which I paid 22k for last year is proof that at it's price point there is little (if any) comparison.

When I shop for cars, I create a list of prices for how I'd spec each model. To me this is what really matters, as I usually choose many available options. This is where the Z06 slots into my list:

2023 Carrera - $123,390
2023 Z06 - $128,035
2023 Carrera S - $137,940
2023 Carrera GTS - $160,850

Yea a Carrera is way classier, but I'd have to think hard about passing on a Z06 for a Carrera S at $10k more. I am not really seriously considering a base Carrera over a Z06.
Definitely NOT cross shopping used vehicles.

I wasn’t really railing you in that rant post I just used your post to rant lol.

I was just saying people are backing out over an extra 10k or so, for a legit supercar, is crazy.

106k for a mid engine supercar that sounds like a Ferrari making almost 700hp. How lucky are we?

When people are optioning their m3 or m4 to over 100k easy.
