Doing my Blackstone report as soon as I get the kit, here is my results from BE Bearings. Little concerned but waiting on Blackstone before I freak out. Regardless bearings will be replaced asap.

I did the same thing when I posted my first uoa.

Your fuel dilution was nuts. Are you driving it? That's the first Polaris report I've seen....I like it. Didn't see how many miles were on the sample though?

Results are back up , I commute every other week but I do lots of little short trips and let it warm up for too long. I realize I need to change my driving style with this car and that may have contributed to the fuel problem. I'm going to see what Blackstone says but in the meantime I am pretty much going to get the E36 track car back up and drive that

Curious to see what Blackstone says. I see the mileage now...

People probably just had stashes they were using up. The new stuff hasn't been out for a very long time.

TWS can still be had from places like ECS, Amazon, etc.

Just got my first report back, happy to see low lead
I'll have to change sooner/check trends to see about the iron though. Hopefully it's a non-issue.

Mainly just glad the report came back this clean for high(ish) mileage on both the car and the oil.

Good report but your nuts going 13k miles in between changes Wouldn't worry about the iron.

Hah yeah, I didn't get into the self maintenance stuff until recently and just followed the computer. I've seen a lot of people on here go with ~7500 but ill probably try 9 or 10k next time and see how it goes

Personally I wouldn't go beyond 5k. Lots of people do, but for a hundred bucks it's good peace of mind for me.

Nice report! Have you done any other major maintenance items now that you're at 120k? E.g. spark plugs, diff oil, power steering, brake fluid, transmission fluid (I saw a lot of them are on 40k intervals by members).

I am kinda old school and I don't believe in forever fluid. Here are my intervals:

motor oil: every 7500
tranny/diff oil: every 30000
air filter/cabin filter: every 30000
spark plugs: every 35000
coolant/accessories belts*: every 60000
power steering/brake fluid: every 75000

so at 120k, i changed oil, tranny, diff, air filter, cabin filter, coolant. I have AA underdrive pulley and I have notices that the AA double sided belt has a lot of cracks at 50k while the factory conti-tech belt for the other side is still very fresh. To keep it simple, I just change both at 60k. If it's oem, i probably change the belts at 100k intervals.

Watch for increased aluminum - which is why a baseline is important as opposed to doing one oil analysis and calling it a day.

Can anyone provide feedback? I bought the car used with 56k miles, and an unknown mileage on the oil in the engine. Did the sample mid way through the drain, when the engine was at operating temp. I plan to run the oil for 1k more miles, and retest to establish a pattern. To me it looks like it's time for bearings, but the engine doesnt make any noises at all. She runs nice and clean, and I found nothing in the oil filter when I cut it apart. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry to say, but it's not going to make any noises when bearings are worn but still serviceable. When it starts making noises it's usually too late.

You are running probably through the lead layer of your bearings !
The sign and number is very clear , the decision is up to you ...
Do you want to keep the car ?
Than it's time !

What concerns me is the uncertainty of the PO's oil use, change interval, or how the car was used. I plan to change the oil soon, and will be sending in another report. Once I establish a pattern, I'll have more info. I'm ordering the bearing kit as a precaution.

Good catch ! This is when the oil reports DO come in handy, when they alert us of wear like this as it's happening...or yeah, maybe the oil just hasn't been changed in a very long time. Hope you get it all figured out soon.

Without TBN and TAN (each are $10 extra), it's hard to determine an appropriate change interval.

Arbitrarily picking the interval will just lead you to waste money or overwork the oil.
