You mean the automatic gearbox or the whole car was more comfortable to drive?

the auto/"dsg" gearbox definitely makes a big difference over constantly rowing the gears in traffic

less "shake-and-bake" and vibrations (it could just be that my '08 is old... i had the motor mounts changed but i may need to address other parts)
smoother and more effortless acceleration in the lower ranges

seating position - the e9x m3 seats don't go low enough
this has always been a pet peeve but not a deal breaker
the audi s3 seat has slightly better positioning

a lot of it could just be that my m3 is much older and the s3 is pretty much new
anyway
i'll have the whole weekend to drive it and not just stuck in morning commute traffic
so i'll be back.

Out of town on business for one week. Come to my computer, see a bunch of Skype messages from my wife starting with "Do you think I should start the car so the battery doesn't die?" Then two hours later the attached two photos - she takes the M out for lunch.

Guess the V8 starts to grow on her.

Removed driver seat to have left thigh bolster foam replaced with extra dense foam at a friends shop. Removed the rear parcel to spray it black as it was purple/pink. Removed steering wheel trim to refinish it. Found .60, four golf tees, ink pen & a bunch of golden retriever hair.

yes, he's a good friend
best man at my wedding
but he makes me spend way more money on cars than i would have without him
he got me into autocross and HPDE with my previous car

the result of getting a lot of nudging from my friend who detailed the car for me
i traded cars with him because he is somewhat interested in the E9x M3
and wanted an extended seat time in the car
