There's a surprising difference between the vanilla Cayman and the GTS, especially on a track.

You have to admit though... the suspension compliance vs. responsiveness is uniquely amazing. There's nothing rough about the ride.

Remember, the 718 GTS is now as fast around most tracks as the 981 GT4... and the GT4 was incredible in comparison to the more regular 981.

That said, I spent 10 minutes in a 991 GT3RS and felt it was a religious experience, so maybe I'm of a type.

I've ridden shotgun in both a 991 GT3 and GT3RS at Road Atlanta and Atlanta Motorsports Park, and religious is an appropriate description

I assume it was an older ZL1 (not the Alpha platform). The old ones were no slouch either, but they were a lot bigger and heavier than the current ZL1 1LE.

Correcto, it wasn't the 1LE. Still, no slouch. But he's a Porsche fan, has always wanted one, and well, GT3 RS yo.

I'm not the biggest Porsche fan but the GT3 RS is just another animal.

no but it drove home ok after sitting in the pouring rain for three hours.

This engine bay can be sprayed down I don't cover anything up (or should I be?) haha

stock airbox so no issues there.

i rode shotgun in my friend's 991 GT3. he's a fast driver. it was gnarly because in the m3 I would've already hit the braking zone and he's still on the gas (at chuckwalla on a short straight into a kink).

i washed my car the other day. although i didn't aim water down the vents, i didn't really avoid them. no issues.

At one point earlier this year the little dealer near me (Porsche of Arlington) had 2-preowned lava orange GT3 RS'es and a guards red pedestrian GT3. I saw one of the GT3 RS'es was still in the showroom as I drove by the other morning.

I would have bought all 3 but megamillions just didn't cooperate.

A little off topic but I'm on vacation next couple of weeks and decided to travel on my own. Trying to hop on a standby flight to Amsterdam later in the week and go watch the ADAC GT Masters at Zandvoort. I really wanted to go watch the 6hr VLN event this weekend but the hotels are kinda booked. Will try to get a night at Apex next week however and catch Misha, aka Boosted Boris for a couple of instructed laps. Just waiting to hear on availability.
Haven't traveled on my own in a long time, kinda nice making my own schedule haha

i haven't traveled by myself yet, but i think it would be great. i often go out to eat by myself when my wife is at work. she doesn't understand it, but i love it. i don't have to talk to anyone, and i get to eat and leave, and not wait for anyone.
i think traveling by yourself would be like that, but for everything. i would dig it.
