Don't hit cones?

If you're shooting for stock, street, class, then I seriously doubt this is legal.

Don't hit cones with the undertray for sure, if you're hitting it with the undertray you're late and you didn't look ahead and you should be ashamed of yourself and you should be happy to pay a penance of a few minutes under the car and a few bucks to replace the tray until you learn you hit cones with the side of the car, the side of the tire, or the rear bumper cover

a) I meant to say Falken, not Kumho (had in mind the RT615K+)
b) That's what I hear, comparable in performance potential between new NExen, new Falken, RE71R and Rival S 1.5 but that's just other people's rubber, I can't provide firsthand impressions of the latest crop of good tires
c) I also hear there's a reason the 275/40-18 Nexen is so cheap, it's a drift size with a different slower more heat tolerant compound than the rest of the SUR4G lineup, supposedly

Will do, 250 parts+100 labor is sure a big reminder. The ad08r sized in 255/265 felt really good and dancing with the rear in big sweepers is tremendously fun. I need to remind myself to drive like a grandma in the slower sections to set up for the faster parts, really wish there is a pill for it. I had Andrew Pallotta as my instructor. When he drove my car it actually felt very pedestrian like, drama free, but his times were .

Lightbulb comes on when you see how slow the fast guys look don't it

Also I don't think (if you're running in Street) you want the headache of a protest, even if it would be a weenie protest.

I just returned from the Peru Match Tour where I ended up 2nd in class .485 behind Brian Flanagan in another M3, and ahead of Cindy Duncan, and three others. Didn't drive particularly well day 1, but was much faster on Sunday during Challenge qualifying, and fast enough to have won. That said, Flanagan was on Nexen's (265's) and had run RE71R's previously. While he didn't have back to back comparisons, he said the 265's were as wide as his mounted RE71R 275's and felt very comparable. I may try a set but right now supply isn't out there and I may try a set of Rival S but would prefer to stick with RE71R's. Video's may come if I am motivated.

I saw you drive up to test n tune. Unfortunately, I was just heading on my way back to St. Louis and sadly couldn't run the MT. I drove out there to get some test time on new suspension (e46) and turn some dials. Do you recall what your times were at TnT?
I just tracked down some 275 Re71Rs for my e90. Hopefully they arrive in time for a 6/18 event at Gateway so I can play with the new car. Do you have any plans for coming to St. Louis?

I did 4 runs and had a 25.9 if I recall. I'll fit in an event in StL, but just don't know when exactly. Probably at the Family Center as I prefer it to Gateway.

My intention was to get a Dinan front sway. They were supposed to be available late May...they've now been indefinitely delayed. They are using the same manufacturer, but the mfg is no longer able to make the part they've been making for years without issues.

So whats the next best front sway peeps would recommend?

Thx

Have now run both the new Falken+ and the RE71R. While the Falkens last forever (minimal wear, less grainy wear compared to RE due to harder compound), they are tad slower. For DE, the Falken gets my vote, for competition, RE71R still is the king of the hill. The howl and scream is evident with the Falken+ whereas RE performs more like a slower Hoosier or faster RA1 without the howling.

Mine just snapped, and it was one of the earlier "good" ones. Run away (I wouldn't change a perfectly fine bar just because others have swaybars, but I warn everyone not to take a chance if buying a new one).

Check out the Hotchkis set. Yeah it's a set, but you don't have to install the rear, and I believe the Hotckis is the same diameter as Dinan?

It's odd that Hotchkis doesn't list the M3 bar set on their own website, but Bimmerworld has them listed with Hotchkis part number 22839. If you do a part number search on the Hotchkis site, it does show up but with a blank description.

My RD snapped (outboard edge of driver-side chassis mount) season before last. RD replaced it at team cost, which was about half price. They had me provide the purchase date, so they could track the lot. No problem since, but I am open to changing to a different manufacturer, if someone else produces an adjustable hollow bar, and I can get just a front.

Eibach ones are hollow, adjustable (similar rates with dinan) and can be purchased as front only. You can get them from firecracker.

Note that it's definitely worth a call to Eibach unless someone here can definitively answer the hollow vs solid question about their front sway bar (and if the rep just reads the published text, you have to press for a definite answer from their design group).

Their front bar is 29mm, and its stiffness would not be high enough if it was hollow to match up with their 25mm rear bar for the M3. It's solid I'm guessing...since I have their rear 25mm bar on my car (what a fun job installing that was) that is advertised as hollow also, and I can guarantee it is solid. I have it matched with the original Dinan solid front bar which is 28.5mm. If I get time later, I may call their support line and force the issue since they need to update their marketing material.

RD sport bars for the E60 M5 have been snapping in many instances. Check out the E60 section of m5board for threads on the issue. Pretty much everyone ditched RD for others. For example on the E60, you can get factory bars that fill the need by using the front bar from the M6 competition package with the Dinan roll control added to it and then using rear bar from the M6 convertible.

Front bars snapping is a serious safety issue especially for anyone tracking their car. All loaded up in say the climbing esses at VIR, which a decent driver in an M3 with R-comps will be running ~105+mph, having the front bar snap is potentially a life or death moment with an instant spinning mass of metal (especially since VIR took away so much runoff room to build condos at that spot).

Current Dinan bar is hollow, adjustable, and available as just the front (I just bought one a couple months ago). The old Dinan was not (Chuck has that one)

I'm pretty taken aback that they charged you. just off-putting as heck when they know it's been an issue. That's just a red flag and a half to me.

Oh well, probably my fault because I have lots of posts on this board telling people my "RD Bar is just fine blah blah blah what could possibly go wrong" and then it broke leaving my driveway
