Sorry to hear about this BMW Fanatic, our e28 (1987 535is) got keyed all around in Toronto some years back. The idiot that keyed the car did not miss one section of the car I mean all around he keyed the car. A complete paint job was required my daughter driving this car still today was devastated at the time.

So it happens everywhere as you can see. Hope you get your car back in first class shape soon.

Cheers, Rolf

They probably aren't even worth your effort, but if you do decide to expend the effort, might I suggest these? I have gone through a few boxes and I approve.

Unfortunately they do sometimes. It is much easier to think that this must have been a retaliation than to realize that there are some absolute monsters walking free among us.

Look at some of the horrific violent crimes reported on an almost daily basis and you'll see that some predators don't need a reason.

Sorry to hear about your experience OP.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on this point. There are certainly monsters walking free among us, but in general: rather than wondering why bad things happen to good people, my observation has been that bad things are more likely to happen to a-holes.

CANADIAN HOOLIGANS! THEY'RE ALL MAD UP THERE!

...was probably some dude from Buffalo : P

That sucks.

I have never caught someone keying a car. If I ever do though, I will attack them; assuming I have a reasonable chance of winning the fight.

: )

Windshield and window are getting replaced tomorrow in-home which is always a good thing and for some reason the f*cking idiots didn't even rip through the hood with the axe which is good news for me as I can just get it refinished I'm pretty sure now.

I will post pics later tonight, I was fuming last night but now I'm calm, nothing I can really do and to make things better for myself I just ordered my summers through Sean@PYSpeed and getting my exhaust ordered tomorrow.
What the hell dude. An AXE? What neighbourhood did this happen? Makes me not want to park my car, ever.

Haha are you serious man? OP is a really nice dude. But, nice of you to assume otherwise. If you ever have a really shitty day and some really shitty luck, I'll be the first to remind you of that.

Apparently, you know the man, any “assumption” I would make as to his character can only be from what I observe on the forums. However, my point was:

Someone flicks a booger on your windshield…that’s a random act.
Someone keys half the cars in the parking lot and yours is one of them…that’s some really shitty luck.
Someone sneaks out in the middle of the night in a residential neighborhood and takes a fucking axe to your car? That’s pretty extreme and indicative of something more sinister going on.

I wish you were right, as it would put me at ease overall. But Calgary has some serious haters. Keying/vandalism of high end cars is not particularly uncommon in some specific neighborhoods (hence why I want to know!).

I dont read it that way at all..he's saying that these things usually happen to a-holes who had it coming for something they may have done or someone they pissed off...interesting how OP hasnt commented on any of it

Yea, I'm quite interested as to why OP hasn't chimed in to comment on any of this. I'm hoping to sleep better knowing that this couldn't happen to someone's car entirely unprovoked. I know envy is a powerful force that drives people to do some pretty messed up things... but an axe?

Come on OP, let's hear some context.

I don't know about Calgary, I'm originally from Montreal. I returned to visit in 2006 and borrowed a E36 BMW from family, took it downtown and parked it overnight(because I didn't want to get a DUI) Came back in the morning and the window was smashed, I later found out that there are the low life group of people that do that to nice cars in certain part of downtown Montreal. They like to vandalize higher end cars because...they are jealous monsters or something

I have not had a chance to get to a computer so I cannot multi-quote right now but to everyone asking what I done to deserve this or to the guy who called me an a-hole, I actually done NOTHING. It was random and unprovoked. As for buying mods already, it's summer and I felt like treating my self after this incident and no I'm not using insurance to get aftermarket parts nor am I using them to replace my glass. So for the haters please move along. Yes it was bad but I'm not going to sit here crying about it. The world goes on and this was just a better excuse to go mod crazy.
