One thing you should know about this gauge is if you want to know what your boost is in a specific gear, run the car in that gear all the way to 8,200k rpm and take your foot off the pedal let the car coast down hit the button and then you'll see what your boost was .
when banging through the gears the rpm will over shoot and in return give you a boost spike reading .

But regardless that thing is awesome! GJ! BTW, just curious how much does it cost you every time you guys get a new tune? Seems like you are getting new tunes all the time. I think I have to wait until it is all ironed out before I can pull the trigger still. I can't afford to keep retuning, heck I still can't afford the kit but guess that gives me more time to save.

I always get a kick out of the people sitting on the trunk does that really make a difference. Anyone ever test that theory of the added weight over the wheels on the dynos? I always giggle when I see that. LOL
reason for that is we actually got some wheel spin during the dyno run.

It's a solid kit that did me good in 2 E9x m3's and it's only getting better ( Thanks to AJ's tunning )

Nice! Any estimates on a time frame and price on this kit? Which will NOT be the 625 kit correct? It will be a step above?

Yea, I can understand the banging through the gears and getting the spike. What I was talking about was a the end of your first pull in the video at the top of your RPMs it was above 8psi if you frame by frame looks like you can make out 8.2-3psi?

Anyway, regardless of any of that. Great numbers congrats! I just would like to know what that kit is going to cost and when they think it will be avail. I know I will not be able to afford a kit until later this summer...if all goes according to plan and if this kit is not going to be too much more than the 625 it might be worth the extra time and money to wait considering how much more power it is making that the 625 kit.

on 1 run out of the 4 it did run 8psi not sure why and i believe it was one of the lower readings, definitely not the highest but overall the numbers are pretty consistent at 7.5 psi.

Yes, we will name it the VT2-650. It will be a straight forward upgrade from existing 625 kits. There are a few hardware changes to the beltdrive system as we chose to increase the crank pulley size instead of decreasing the SC pulley size further below the current VT2-625 spec of 94mm to maximize belt longevity.

The price difference will be the same if you upgrade from a 625 or buy the 650 directly.

We hope to have this setup ready for release late summer if all testing goes well.

Since so many people were asking about RunFile_021 boost log, I
went ahead and analyzed it frame-by-frame. *I think the part where
'ataladega' thought he saw 8.2 PSI, was very clearly 6.2 PSI, and
it occurred right after the car hit 8400 RPMs. *One video frame
earlier, I can see 8.0 PSI on the boost gauge @ 8400 RPMs. *MaxHP
was reached at 8300 RPMs, so boost chart data is only relevant up
to 8300 RPMs.

Here's the boost log graph of RunFile_021. *It reaches a peak of
7.8 PSI @ 8300 RPMs. *The average peak boost (thrend line) was 7.4
PSI, so that's what will appear in the Dyno Database.

I updated the boost log analysis spreadsheet with RunFile_021. *
The boost log spreadsheet can be downloaded as "Download-2" from
the Dyno Database for anybody who wants to analyze it and compare
it frame-by-frame with the video.

Will DCT M3's be able to use the 650 or are we still limited to the 575?

Wow this is pretty exciting news!!

Please excuse my ignorance or lack of knowledge, but by running a bigger crank pulley does that decreases boost? Do you use tuning then to increase boost to achieve the more power or by adjusting other parameters?

I am definitely curious about this too. I'm assuming at this power level, those with DCTs are going to have to start looking into cooling, different fluids, or even upgrading the clutches in these transmissions. It seems like SSP is making some big leaps in this field of building DCTs.

ESS and all their clients running their new develoment tunes are definitely making some exciting leaps forward in the search for tons of reliable power!
