How do all these clowns behind a 5,000 lb + sedan get promoted?

Its a massive ask if you consider these cars have govt standards they have to abide by.

There is a very important question Karajlovic and other leaders at BMW have to ask themselves. Is there a sufficient market for traditional sports cars that keep the driver connected to the experience of driving? Manual transmissions, physical buttons, internal combustion engines, etc. Or does the march of time, technology and laws dictate that everything the enthusiast loves about cars has to go away and/or change?

So far I see few things that excite me about the future of cars. How about you?

I’m curious if government standards change over time, and if they are right to exist, and who has the power & influence to change them.

Your picture would excite me if I saw that car sitting new in the dealership again. If BMW had a retro line (sort of like Jordans hah), I'd probably lose my mind. I understand it can't be done due to government regulations/safety/etc., but can you imagine if you could walk into a BMW dealership, and order any car you wanted from their history catalogue?

Wow

Couldbe made, but would be super expensive also.
Pagani does that with Zonda, you can come in tomorrow, and ask for any Zonda spec you like, but it will cost you north of 17 000 000€...

How is moving a 5000 pound car around in any way more efficient or better for the environment than moving around an equally powered 3500 pound car?

Maybe its a dumb question.

This is such a cool idea. There must be a way to instill the best of BMW in a car today that complies with all regulations, and with a cost that is in reach.

Informative read. Very cool he was responsible for such iconic cars that have been recently released. Good to know that BMW M is headed in a proper direction.

It most definitely is. My first EPS car was an F30, I have driven Hyundai products that had better steering. Absolutely awful, worst part about that car by a country mile. I don't know if BMW has gotten better with it though.

The market is small, but there's also fewer players these days. The 80-120k range for manual sports cars in particular seems to be somewhat neglected and I think somewhere BMW can maintain a presence if they choose to do so.
