How wild would it be to have a plenum with a removeable lid, and be able to swap velocity stacks without removing the base of the plenum.

Agree, 'concept' and options certainly appealing, particularly for user accessibility.

That said, a few questions come to mind with a removable CF lid design...jus some thoughts, points to consider, certainly not criticisms.

Not to say removable lid design approach is inferior, impossible or will not work.
However, over time, under numerous dynamic load and temperature cycles these conditions do pose some inherent removable lid long-term, and use challenges to overcome.
  • Fitment/Leak - 'Resealing risk' of leaks with any imperfect lid, reapplication and/or refastening compared to a one-piece design
  • 'Lid Flex' - Structural longevity, cracking, finish peel due to material flex, already some known issues; others have reported/observed with earlier one piece designs. Potentially, lid flex may exacerbate stresses with multiple fastening points, that along with CF fastening especially sensitive to and susceptible to over torque related damage
Own an ID intake - - design, fitment, appearance and performance are spot-on; absolutely Luv it!

Haha yeah I don' think it would make sense in practice. Just a cool hypothesis.

If it happened, I imagine it would be way too expensive to justify, and may still leak.

Here’s a look at the Infinity matching plenum. The setup has been on the Dyno and the numbers are saying the larger velocity stacks are producing some gains. 3-7 whp above 5800 rpm, and 5-10 whp above 6800 rpm.

Looks great, finishes off the intake aesthetically and a power bump to boot….

Looking forward to it for sure

2manyMcarsappreciate sharing; sounds & looks promising.
Had a look at ID site, no mention of any e92 M3 'plenum news'.

Curious...

I think all of their latest updates come out on their FB page before it gets official and then goes on their website.

I've been keeping up with their plenum info for a couple of weeks and it's great to see that there is a small performance increase despite them initially saying that they are not expecting to see one.

It will be on my mods list at some point, looks good.

Ohhh, intriguing! I think the Eventuri plenum looks a tad cleaner, but the modest gains up top are interesting if they do not come at the expense of low end TQ. I hope the removable trumpets and extra hardware/complexity does not create issues.

3-7 hp gains??? That could be from air temperature alone, or moon position

What’s the eta of plenum as far as pre-order ?
I just installed the intake I got back in December, looks and sounds great
Between Black Friday and new year( sales) I’ll look into a plenum and the eVenturi front intake piece scoop to make it complete

I'm just here for details. Partee is releasing theirs soon with a claimed 20hp bump, carbon classe claims a few hp and looks the best, haimus looks good too but pricey.

Hmmmm...

Owner of PR v1 plenum... following release of v2 stacks.
Seen nothing as of late from PR indicating plenum/stacks hp gains.
What's the source of your stated 20hp bump?

I wonder how much better in power output this air box system would benefit if matted up with DINAN or other larger diameter throttle bodies but using stock fuel injectors with stage II ECU?

Not a lot, and if you're not doing headwork (port/polish), then it's really a waste of time/$.

Do we know the standard duty cyle of our injectors? Is there much ceiling? Maybe you'd have to upgrade if you did headwork and big bore TBs?

On the S54, we're finding that the stock injectors are pretty maxxed out after you do the standard bolt-ons (catless headers, cams, airbox, tune).

No, definitely not gonna do all that as this isn’t a track car. But good point.
