Just wanted to let everyone know that my car is in transit. It took 6 days once production finished.

I don't know the VIN--have to call the dealer.

Hey guys, I should finish production this friday on the 7th and there is a ship leaving Bremerhaven on the 10th headed to charleston. Any chance of making that ship? I would love to be as lucky as runuts but it doesn't seem like BMW ships cars to the port over the weekend!

finished production 2/25, at the port of exit 2/27....now in limbo, eight days and counting. Can't answer the poll till it gets on a ship! Edit: order went in transit 3/4 (9 days total to get on a ship.)

If I am interpreting the Vehicle Inquiry Report that the CA give me correctly, the car is destined for Charleston. Why it's been sitting on the dock for a week is beyond me - that's a no-no is the world of supply chain management...In other words, WTF?

I'm right there with you. My car's been sitting in BH since last Monday...hopefully it set sails tomorrow.

A quick update that may help those tracking their cars each day. My car finished production on Friday 2/29 (A leap year car!) and reached port on Monday 3/3. On 3/11 my CA informed me that I was on the 3/10 boat. That information became available on the 800# this morning, 3/12. It is still not reflected on the BMW or WW web sites. In short, there are significant differences (at least in my case) in when the latest information becomes available through these channels, with the CA having the latest information first through BMW's internal systems. Why it takes so long to get from one BMW system to another is beyond me - thankfully BMW's cars are faster than their information systems...

That's good to hear. My CA told me the same thing yesterday and I was hoping that someone else had been told that as well. My car, like yours, had been sitting in BH since Monday the 3rd. I guess us M3 guys are freaks because I got the bill of lading # from my CA and of course when I tried to track it on the WW website it didn't pull up. So, some doubt creeped into my mind. But after hearing your story I feel better. I guess I'll try and be patient and give the WW and OC sites times to update.

I have been plugging in my VIN, not a bill of lading number, as I thought I had read somewhere to do that. Maybe that's why I am not showing up. Anyone know what the correct proceedure is for getting status from the WW site?
Thanks! |

I had heard you could use either the BOL # or your VIN. I tried both numbers and neither are working. Your CA should be able to give you a BOL #. I'm not sure which one will work but I'm going to keep on trying everyday until something happens.

Finished production Feb 29th and my CA says it got on a boat on the 10th - due to arrive at SC on Mar 29th
I won't complain since I think that was technically the first boat it had the chance to get on, and it snuck on I can't, however, figure out a way to track it online with my VIN - WW doesn't bring anything up.
