People who discount comfort do not live in a major city. Sitting in traffic with racing seats, no A/C or radio, during the summer is not feeling alive. It's hell.

GT3 is a much better performer than our M3, really is night and day. You just need to learn to drive it in the style a 911 should be driven and it is truly the most rewarding car you will ever drive and once you do learn to drive it, the times will be extremely fast on the track. I dont think Ive personally ever driven a car that pulls as hard to redline and in the upper end of the rpm range (but thats all GT3s to be honest). It makes the way our M3s or Ferraris (or any other high revving NA engine) pull upper end seem weak in comparison.

I wouldn't mod a M3 to compete with GT3, I would just get a GT3, especially with 997.1 is much more civilized on the streets than the 996 |

GT3RS is the KING of the Ring (as we say in germany, regarding nurburgring). I would sell a kidney to have one... it is awesome! I have been a copilot in GT3 with full bolt ons, carbon ceramic brakes, and that car just eats nurburgring, it is as if there is an invisible rail on nurburgring that is made specifically for the gt3. You will be fine daily driving it (as long as you have normal roads around you). now, you can also shell out for GT2 |

So much GT3 leg-humping. Maybe it's the name, or perhaps the lack of availability that has so many people blushing. The car is hot. No question. But again, the 911 Turbo will dismantle the GT3. The Turbo is faster, AWD, and far superior as a day-to-day car.

They are the single best driver's car in the world (along with Cayman/Boxster) and also one of the most fun and rewarding cars to drive. The 911 turbo is a better car day to day, and yes, a novice will likely be faster in a turbo than a GT3 but equal drivers the GT3 will best a 911 turbo anywhere. Look at the track times. Plus how can you argue with what is the best 6 cylinder engine ever built and one of the best engines ever built overall. The Mezger engine has been proven and won more than ANY other engine ever in motorsport history. There is a reason the Germans call the GT3 the best Ring car in the world. |

Yea, in straight line the turbo will win, but you start taking turns and it's a different story. GT3 is a drivers car, rear wheel drive and veeery few nanies. |

GT2 is also more expensive, I think the allure of the GT3 also resides in it's attainability.

In the GT3 you get one of, if not the best, high revving NA engine in the world at any given time, which cannot be had in a turbo. While the GT3 is far more than an engine, it is a substantial difference than the turbo not to mention only being RWD, better steering, lighter. The differences are pretty substantial when you really think about it. Ultimately, the 911 turbo is more of a road car you can track whereas the GT3 is a race car that has been adapted to be a road car. |

How easy/fun is it to drive the GT3 sideways? How does it compare to the M3 in terms of sideways fun? I realize that the rear engine layout is not the most conducive to this, but would still like to hear some owners' opinions.

I was thinking about this topic the other day if a GT3RS was practical for DD. I was thinking of trading my M3 for a GT3RS but it seems like a lot of people don't DD their GT3RS... or maybe they do and not Seattle.

Gt3 is perfect for DD as long as you figure out the brake squeal (mine were the loudest I've ever heard, drove me nuts) and the front lift kit. No other car I would rather have as long as what I mentioned is dealt with.

No its not!! The M3 is way easier to drift than the GT3! The GT3 has a tendency for lift off oversteer, from which is difficult to maintain a drift. Power oversteer comes with lots of throttle imput and difficult (for me) to maintain. The M3 is so much easier. My expereince with the GT3RS is that I can correct understeer with minimal lift of, i can correct lift off oversteer with throttle and countersteer, but if I am in a power oversteer situation in the dry I had it! Spin out 8/10. With the M3 I can get it back easier.
