I've been over there... seems like the avg age is 14 in most threads. Took too much of my time to weed out the stupidity to actually get to some content, so I stopped going over there.

How's the Cobalt??? I'm in a Fusion for a few days right now with my M3 getting a minor paint gauge refinished. Makes me appreciate my M that much more!

Thanks Alex.
I assume that would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

I hear you Will, but if I'm honest the General forum of M3Post is little different. You have to dip in to the Canadian forum of each for a little more civility, and at least a passing acknowledgment that the English language contains some form of grammatical guidelines.

Yep. I agree with your comments on M3post too, James - seems to be getting worse these days. And I actually haven't been into the E90 Canadian forum, so I shouldn't generalize. Anyhow, enjoy the car when it gets here!

You could be correct with that description, but it would be a fun search nonetheless.

I didn't do a Euro Delivery when buying my car but I still remember the anticipation of driving to the dealer (I live in Halifax but bought my car from the Moncton dealer) in my E46 ///M3 to trade it in and pick up my new E90.

Have fun getting re-acquainted with your ///M!!!

Cheers!

My car is on a train now and will arrive in Montreal on Wednesday this week.
So I guess I'll find out what type of hours everyone (trucking company, dealer) is working this Easter weekend.

That would be ideal, I emailed my CA. I know the plate mounts would be installed, the Nav maps loaded, and the BMW Assist and Satellite Radio all activated. These things the service department would have to do...

...the department that isn't open on Saturdays. Still if the car is there, I'll inform them I intend to pick it up, so have the plates ready and I'll put the rear one on and throw the other in the window. Then come back for all the other stuff on Monday / Tuesday.

Picking it up at the end of this week will make my spring.

I would not get too excited yet!If your car arrives Wednesday at the yard in Montreal you would be lucky to see the car this week.My car sat for a week in Concord before it was trucked to the dealership due to a shortage of car carriers. At least for us in Toronto shipping by truck is full of delays in getting cars to the dealers.

My car sat the best part of a week in Halifax, so that would be par for the course.

Either way, come Monday 25th, the Cobalt goes back to the rental place, and I'll either be picking my son up in my M, or on my bike with the Chariot on the back...

Yep!I am not the most patient person but I will tell you from experiance do not get upset at the wait.Usually my clients who are the ones whom are on the phone every hour are the ones that their vehicles are the ones delayed in transit which we almost have zero control over.

Haha,
I can tell you I am patient to a point. Point passed. Where I differ from your more eager clients is recognizing who can do anything about anything (no one).
So the only person I have bothered is Jamie to ask kindly he let me know when he finds out anything [EDIT: to be fair, I did rant to ("to", not "at") Jamie a bit, and I feel bad for that]. Jamie has been great!

I haven't made a single call to my Client Advisor, and the only email I sent was this weekend enquiring what their hours were over the long weekend. With the links Mark gave me to track the ship, and Jamie's help with the train. I can't see how my CA or dealer could add any value.

My CA's been great, he said the car would be turned around quickly when it arrives, and he's been good to his word (Alex as you know).

A couple of little delivery stories for you.

My 2011 F150 took 3 weeks from the railyard in Buffalo to arriving in Toronto with a rush shipment order in January.
My 2001 Z06 was an entirely different story as it showed up in less than 5 days from Bowling Green KY.I tracked that one very closely knowing that it was in Detroit awaiting transport. The next morning I get a call from a buddy who just got on the 401 at Guelph line and told me that there was the truck with the 1st Z06 in Canada which was mine.I called my dealer telling him that the car would be there within the hour and I would pick it up early in the PM.The dealer called me and still wonders to this day how I knew where the car was

So if I'm hearing you right, I should be stalking the 417 between Montreal and Ottawa. This will bring good luck, and I can spot my car on the truck heading West bound.

Dealership closed Friday and Saturday this weekend, but back open on Monday.
I'm hoping I'm not on my bike too much next week...

From Duncan's comments it sounds like my car will likely spend a week traveling the 2 hours from Montreal anyway.
One thing is for sure though, no matter the arrival of my car, I'll be hoping the weekend is long and relaxing for all of us!

[Just wish I could have spent the evenings re-exploring all of my local roads]

Jamie let me know that last night (at 2am EST) my car was no longer showing in the CN rail system. So she's in the hands of the trucking company now, and we've gone radio silent until I spy it driving down the 417...

I figure next week will be the week. But that's not going to stop me driving by the dealer later this afternoon, just to verify the unlikely didn't happen.

Do you have the website for the trucking company? If you punch in the VIN on their site you can track the car.
