Agreed! Had an '08 M3 and now '11 and nearly 5 years later I STILL do all the same things the OP mentioned.
Very well stated! There is NO CURE!

Went to a movie the other night and it was the first time she was parked in a lot with very few spaces since Amsterdam. Hunted around for a spot near a corner that only had cars on one side. I've never hugged the dash, but I might give it a try tonight after work. |

How do you keep this car under 5500 RPM for the 1st 1500 miles?
BTW, can the Dealer determine if you've "accidently" violated the recommended engine breakin policy so that they can refuse future warranty engine repairs while the car is still under warranty? I guess it doesn't matter now....it's too late.... I did manage to go easy for the 1st 400 miles...damn. |

I'm sure it is. I know when I took delivery of the P car, I was able to get a print out of how many times there were Type-1 and Type-2 over-revs and at what hour they occurred. I don't think it would be difficult to modify the programming to see at what point the over-rev occurs. Granted I'm comparing it to another auto manufacturer but I feel like any information would probably be helpful. Would BMW do this? I have no idea but it is a possibility.

LMAO well I guess I'm not the only one! The owners manual should come with a list of these "possible side effects" like it's some sort of drug!!!

Lol perfectly normal. I miss the new leather smell. Everytime I go to a BMW dealer and sit in a new M3, the new leather smell brings back memories of the excitement and infatuation of my first week with it. So cherish it while it lasts!!

Yup, I open the garage door just to look at her and my wife rolls her eye's at me every time. You're completely normal, so don't worry and keep enjoying your baby!

Not only is it "normal" I'd say you needed professional help if you did NOT do these things.
