I cut a little extra all around
So as I presssed the reflector in, it held all the egdes tight I also used a hari dryer to soften the vinyl So maybe it's held on tighter that way? I know mine has lasted about 2.5 years

I couldn't get them to fit flush. Nice prism, but I think I will just live with the orange.

I may just give in and go with color matched, however it just looks like a purposeless bump. It's like if someone didn't know what it was they would ask, "Hey, what is that bump on your bumper?"

Seriously though, I can't quite get myself to buy 'em either. My eyes just look past the orange but get strangely drawn to the painted ones. It's like your brain says 'something is not right here'. |

I tried to go clear and the fit was bad and it looked horrible, then i tried ebay painted reflectors and the damn thing broke in my hand while installing it - they also didnt fit well.
Got the IND painted reflectors and they fit OEM and look amazing. Go IND or stay orange.

Seems like from the photos above of the DDM (finer prism pattern) reflectors the fit is just fine. They aren't supposed to sit flush with the bumper surface anyway, and from a few feet away I'm sure you can't tell one way or another, if I get them I'm not going to nit-pick over micro-millimeter "misfit".
I have painted reflectors on my e46 M3. I'm in the process of getting an e90 M3. Now I want the reflectors for safety reasons (having your kids in car-seats in the back seat eliminates a lot of vanity lol) but the orange ones are terrible, I think clear would look good next to the headlight assembly. |

I have tried all of the clears shown in this thread. They leak, turn yellow, or the fitment sucks.
I have tried IND painted - fitment/color was perfect. I just don't like the white patches on my bumper. I second! Go IND or stay orange.

anyone try to put a thin layer of "smoked tint" over the current orange reflectors to try and make them a bit less noticable/reflective?
I wonder if it would help and make them blend in better. I have Space Grey. |
