DCT improves the drivability of any engine but the effect it has on FI is more marked. The 335is will be a great package, but to have it looking the part with the M/sport bodykit and interior detailing it will also be an expensive one.

I'm not at all dissapointed, Let them soup up the 335IS whoopy do! I'm still pissed that BMW won't bring the good stuff to the U.S. Market , E-46 CSL soon to Be E-92 M3 GTS.
More M3 drivers will be upset when the little brother arrives in 201?, M1 or 1M or what ever they are gonna call it. Performance wise i think our E-9X M3 will be put to the test against lil bro! Just my 2-cents. Food for thought I just read the Feb 2010 Sport Auto. It has an article on the 2010 Audi TTRS. This car is within 8 seconds of Our M3's on the Nurburgring and is missing 108HP compared to our heavy overweight 414Hp M3's. In the hands of a good driver that car could embarass alot of M3 drivers on the track? |

12k is small enough for the M3 to be a no-brainer compared to the 335is....especially for a lease.
M3 all the way.

m3 still look better, sound better, don't worry about it.
you can put 500hp in the 335i and i still take the m3. serious I think the new 335is is due to the new s4. Bmw felt they need to up their game to match/surpase the s4 and I think they did it with this one. Kudo to them. But it aint m3. |

don't get me wrong, i love the 369lb instant torque and all, it's a great car.
but i dunno why people feel confused about 335is vs M3. 335is, with all that M package and body kit upgrades....is just another 3 series trying to be an M after all. you'll sit in a 335 watching M3 drive by and always think you should've bought the M3 instead. you'll sit in an M3 watching 335 drive by and never even think about getting 335 instead. argument finished. |

The M1 should be the better track car than the M3, as the M3 is the better track car than the M5.

///M division should do one more N/A marvel before emissions and governing bodies tie there hands! I would love to see the CSL S54 in the new 1 series 360HP N/A high revving inline 6. A turbo motor can't replicate this engine. Well i'm just dreaming so well wait and see what kind of powerplant the ///M division decides on? |

450 + 320ish is just what the M3 needs to stand above all. Come on BMW. I know you have it in you. You've done a mid cycle engine refresh before...

I agree your wife does not need an M3. But all you need to do is go drive an M3 cab back to back with a 335i cab to see the point very clearly. Your conclusion will be that the M3 cab is more fun and worth the money. Trust me. Again, your wife won't care, so the 335is is a good choice for her. But you will know the difference very clearly.

The 335is is more of a marketing exercise than a performance improvement. To understand why, you only need to look at what was improved, and what wasn't.
They increased the power and tweaked the looks, both things that were perfectly fine in the standard 335i Coupe. But they left unchanged the runflats, suspension and the open diff - when those would be the first things to change in a performance model. And starting just $5k less than an E90 M3, I think it's ridiculous. |

I hear you. I was merely saying that there is a very good reason why the M3 cab exists. And while it may not appeal to you, I think you would understand pefectly (I.e. you would absolutely see the point) from behind the wheel of one. The fact that your wife would prefer the 335is to the M3 only further reinforces this point.
Cheers. Quote:
