M-DCT transmission replacements, lurching, lag .... thankfully, I listened to Jeremy Clarkson and avoided having to read threads like this: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151336

I test drove a Citroen C2 VTR a few weeks ago; it has an automated clutch gearbox. It was undrivable in auto mode, lurching awfully on up changes. The only way to use the thing was in manual mode and you had to conscientiously lift your foot from the throttle to get a smooth up change, making no more convenient than a regular manual. Made me spend $5000 more to get the VTS version, which has a close ratio manual box.

At least with a proper manual, you have an excuse when you hand "accidentally" fondles the knee of your passenger.

I just responded to your comment on my page with the same thought. Yes, our reserve keeper playing striker and scoring; that'd be the real "miracle" we need this time around...

Heh - I accidently posted this to the M-DCT thread earlier (I just moved it over here).

Wow. I finally got some quality time with my 6MT last night. I had been following the M-DCT with some interest, and wondered if I might have enjoyed that had I done more homework (and was more patient with my order).

No doubts now. I love the 6MT. I came from a MT 997S and my first take on the M3 6MT was not that impressive. But now that I have some miles with the car, I am in love with the MT on this car. The clutch that I thought was too soft before, now feels smooth as butter. The throw of the shifter is great.

I am hooked.

Go 6MT!

Ah, I remember that now. But that was assuming he would keep our logo. He could have displayed both logos you know. Then, he would have been a true diplomat working toward mutual understanding.
