When people use the term, "walk", either they're talking quarter mile or street. Very seldom do I hear that lingo for track/course racing. Maybe, " overtaken" etc.

Yes it does but the point is that even the most traditional stick only sports car will soon be offering a paddle option. I think Ferrari is all paddle and Lambo is mostly. The days of a heel toe are coming to a close.

Probably, but IMO the ultimate goal is still to have the most fun , not to be the fastest !

Regarding the GT-R and Transmission and what not. Here are my thoughts: I think it would have been foolish for Nissan to equip or allow for a manual option in the GT-R, it would go against their entire purpose, they are building a cutting edge car. To equip it with old technology would be foolish. From a performance aspect, launching an AWD car is not easy, knowing this alone (From Nissan's perspective) it would be an easy choice to NOT provide a manual option. Dual Clutch technology also provides a SIGNIFICANT advantage over it's American competition. I personally don't think you can ding the GT-R or Nissan for not offering a manual option. |

Also, there's nothing hard in launching a AWD car, specially one with that much power! I've seen plenty of people having no trouble doing great launchs with Audi A4s 1.8t with big laggy turbos, those could be a challenge but a GT-R, not! Finally , IMO , manual gearbox is not old technology, it's fun technology! Last edited by Alex07M3; 05-30-2012 at 08:30 PM.. |

I wasn't suggesting you buy one. I was indicating that you will get your ass handed to you by one on the track.

if you want a GTR, get it now. I Can see the price keep going higher....not lower.
I mean the 991 base is pushing 100k with a few options and 991 S is hitting 130k easily with some must have option. The GTR is still one hell of a bargain. The new 991 turbo is going to be 170k or more IMO. you want a base 991 or GTR. no way in hell i pick the base 991 over the GTR for the same price. |
