It's funny you mention this. I saw someone who recently did the conversion for the DCT surround from silver to CF.

There's a fellow E9X enthusiast in Instagram that shared a link with me.

Check it out. Here are some pictures of his conversion.

I started to do some long awaited TLC as I am hoping the winter is almost done, however with the 6" inches of new snow today, there's no end in site.

I installed my MS under pulleys. I also removed the side gills as the old surrounds were plastidipped. I had some Performance ones and began the conversion. What a pain it is on the E90s.

I ended up taking the fenders off. That was an interesting task. I love learning about the inner workings of our cars. As a side note, the top bolt that holds the fender on and is located inside the the door where the hinges are, is a reverse thread. You turn it closkwise to loosen. Not sure what the logic is behind this!

I also pulled all my fender liners off to give them a good cleaning.

Tomorrow is gonna suspension day. Removing the KW HAS and installing KW V3s.

I may wait on this though...tax return looks good and I am inclined to put an order in at IND. Perhaps some Fall Line components and dare I say....RKP Carbon Fiber Roof

Interesting! Is this shift knob cover a replacement for the OEM silver trim (therefore requiring the knob to be disassembled) or is it a carbon 'skin'? From the photo, I guess the former.

No....lol.

My car is not road worthy at the moment. Plus the roads are still covered in snow.

I'll report back in the spring!

Added a quart of Castrol Edge Supercar 10W60 after the electronic dipstick told me I was low on oil during a long drive. Took a couple of measurements and then it read full. Made me a bit nervous during the first few minutes until I could pull over and fill it up, and the first measurement still read low after putting in almost the full quart. I guess it needed a few more minutes to properly read the level. Last oil change was last May and about 3750 miles ago.

The EU one sounds good to me, just cause it's different from what I've heard from a wide variety of cars
