i'll have to poke around a bit more. i didn't realize this was a thing until i randomly came across an e90 m3 rear seat pic and saw the cap. it looks like there is a seam on the rear part of the console where the finishing part for the e92/90 snaps on.

i'm definitely not a crafty type of guy, but i think it would be fun to try to build a rear seat delete, but i need that center section to be flat.

I did it because with a stripped interior having the back half of your console just missing looks like crap. #showcar

yea, i still want it to look nice. i want to keep my rear speakers, but somehow get rid of the side trim... maybe just the rear armrests. if i could get a couple more inches on each side i might make life slightly easier for the trips up north with the tires and the dog.

i'm not affiliated with this kit in any way, i just came across it on ebay while searching for other track paraphernalia. might be a decent buy depending on how worn the rotors are and if you can factor in a rebuild.

Hard parked at Wekfest Texas... My friends started a track day event organization and next event is Dec 16. Car shows is a good way to get some exposure and people interested in tracking their cars. Hopefully it works out because if I can track for free that would be awesome.

I heard my name.

Rollbar isn't bad, take out seats, cut the outer seat tabs and bolt it up.

Ready for some drama? Pull up a chair.

So, I don't recommend this organization for a couple reasons that I'll outline below.

The guys that run this (Marios and Sina) are young, fairly immature and really like to cater to their friends and the younger crowd. Nothing wrong with younger gearheads that like to track, other than the fact that you'll get a lot of hotshoes with big egos that often get themselves into trouble really quickly. These guys also try to run in the higher skill level groups when they aren't ready (often two to three groups higher) because that's where they think they should be. Sorry, but too soon junior.

I had two friends wad their cars last February at the OnGrid event because of traffic and unnecessarily over aggressive driving by participants. I mean, it's an HPDE. The goal is to have fun and drive home at the end of the day.

I won't even go into the fact that after Sina took over as Admin for the Bay Area Track Junkies Facebook group, he quietly pivoted and began using it as an advertising platform for OnGrid, censoring all other event organizers in the process. He would also delete any and all posts that were remotely critical of their partners. Had this been public, I'm sure the 1000+ members would have quickly left.

That behavior is simply not cool IMO. They tried to chalk it up as people being petty and overly sensitive but lol.

My own personal beef with Sina before he started deleting posts and censoring the group was that I used to get annoyed at him for selling Qstarz timers in the group, but I got over it.

That all changed though once he turned into Fidel Castro.

Speed SF got sick of his bullshit and asked the original group creator to come back, take admin rights away and then ban his ass - which he did. Butthurt, he left with Marios in tow to go form California Track Addicts with the goal to "bury" the Bay Area Track Junkies page, which is the exact behavior I was expecting. They baited people into joining using free track time which appears to have worked.

Anyway, good luck to your friend I hope their car makes it back in one piece.

I knew I had seen it somewhere. Slicer has a list of the parts you need to cover that up. Ill probably get them used just to save some $$$ http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...hlight=CONSOLE

Oh man I should have peeped at the forums!!! Just now catching up. I was out there Saturday and Sunday. I was also surprised to see so many E9X's. Off hand I think there were 4 running in TT and 3 running in HPDE. I was white #31. That was my first time running with NASA and I had a lot of fun. We stayed for the Christmas banquet / NASA racing awards ceremony on Saturday night and they definitely know how to have fun! Especially the spec E30 guys My only complaint was that the run groups were a little bit too big. Either that or there was just too much differential between the bottom and top of the group. There ended up being quite a few trains. Me and a handful of others tried gridding in the first slots, but after a few laps, we caught up to the rear. Still managed to eek out a new PB at 1:45:09 so that felt good.

This is typically the bigger event of the year for NASA at RA (unless Nationals comes through or something) because of the toy donations (or last run of the year, can't decide which), but I have never seen that many cars put on track at once for pretty much every group of the day. I go to a lot of different events throughout the year, and you might see one red flag during the weekend. I was only there for about half of the day on Saturday and saw four red flags I can only imagine this was due to the number of cars in each group, so don't think it is typical!

And you're right about the Spec E30 guys. I'm good friends with a chunk of the guys there, and that IS typical A lot of the NASA-SE E30 guys are very close friends off the track as well, so you'll see some fun.

Wish I could have made it out on Sunday, but #lifehappens2017

Congrats on the PB!

Yes, I did that mod for my RSD. I needed to Dremel the bottom portion of the panel to make it fit. It's not 100% plug and play. As a result the storage tray and rubber pad in that link are not used. You only need the main panel and the vents.
