Yes new bolts first round (9Euros each!). Bolts itself won't be harmed (6nm) but wanted new rubber gommits which doesn't seem to be possible to replace on its own. My valve covers had no leaks so a bit annoying but suggest you take the plunge and change them (in fact my covers are sweating a tad after...)

Cheers

I wish I didn't get hosed on the first batch of vanos covers and waited. I have them sitting here on myself for the past year now.

Did mine a few weeks ago. It's important to be meticulous since so much has to be disconnected to get the valve covers off. Fitment is really perfect, and the peace of mind can't be beat. Maybe all of the S65 design flaws have now been fixed. FWIW I reused the valve cover bolts and spark plug tubes as is. New valve cover gaskets set in with Dreibond and allowed to cure for a bit with weight on a flat surface so they don't fall out while putting the covers back on.

Just completed mine as well. My car has 125k miles. California car. The covers were fine no sign of it cracking or warped. But upon removal all 4 cracked and shattered. Very brittle it seemed.
I decided to get everything. Valve cover gasket,
Timing cover gasket, spark plug tubes and new valve cover bolts.

Also I had my Slonik cover anodized black.

Nice. More available and better price. I paid a lot more. Still happy with my product.

Yes I've worked with Mikhail to get the price down by ordering more at once rather than 3-5.

I haven't seen this attempted yet, but do you think these could be installed via the timing cover without removing the entire VCs? Seems like that might be able to provide adequate access for the snap-in solution.

After doing mine just last week. I really don't think you can but honestly you are better off removing the valve cover. It helps do the job a lot better.

Second this, it won't work. The clearance is too tight. If this worked, it wouldn't be necessary to remove the vanos cover either when the valve cover is off. You won't have enough clearance around the vanos hub bolt to slip the old vanos hub cover off and the new one on, as the valve timing cover and vanos cover cover meet right in front of that bolt, and the clearance is the same with either cover, only a few mm.

Highly highly doubt it, you only have about 3-4mm from the calve cover to the edge of the bolt.
