The car I have a whole new appreciation for people who successful merge in to Houston traffic in these things.

My car has been at BMW Midtown for freakin 6 days! I came in for very minor work (so I thought). Squeeking steering and a weak battery. The dealer claimed that it has taken them 4 days to diagnose the problems and that parts had to be overnighted. I certainly hope that the techs did not do some other damage to the car and that they are scrambling to order body panel parts.

I didn't get a Malibu as a loaner though. They gave me a 2011 528i which is pretty sweet ride.

Got my car back last night finally....it took 6 days for them to figure out that the squeeking steering was actually loose plastic trim in the front fender wells. All they did was replace the plastic push-button rivets. I don't know....the squeeking sounds I was hearing sure didn't sound like squeeky plastic.

The M3 is gone and you still have the Datsun, right? I'll agree that even the regular f10's look really good. I haven't driven one yet, but a friend that has, said it felt really big and heavy. The M5 will have a lot of power and no doubt be very tunable (for even more power)..

Any recommendations for a easy, fairly inexpensive tropical vacation destination? I've never had to (gotten to?) do this before, but I've convinced myself the whole travel agent thing is BS.

I've heard that Costa Rica is quite a bargain, but I haven't been there myself.

Costa Rica wasn't particularly cheap the last time I went there (2009), but it's a lot of fun if you're the adventurous type

I went in 2000 or so with some class mates in high school... had a great time, and I can only imagine it would be more fun as an adult (Although in Costa Rica I guess 16 was old enough). I don't need the vacation to be cheap, but I do kind of want to feel like I'm getting that "Hey you want my US dollars!" bargain, if you know what I mean . I'd also like to feel like I'm not going to get shot, murdered, mugged, kidnapped, ransomed, etc. Like that, only without the sign.
