How do you like the Ohlins R&T? I have those on my 911 and the drive is pretty harsh (even with the setting soft) but cornering and transition is just epic for a 3,500 lb road car.

But you are spot on that wider front tires = heavier steering. I am currently running 275/295 G Force Rivals on my Apex EC-7s and the steering is noticeably weighter than my 255/275 Michelin PSS. I actually like it, though I am running a lot of negative camber (~2.0), so the effect on turn-in is mitigated. There is no denying the benefit of all that rubber, though. I cannot wait to take run the G Force Rivals on the track. I love the Ohlins R&T, at least for the street. It feels more compliant than the ZCP suspension and handles leaps and bounds better. It's honestly the biggest subjective difference in the car of anything I've done. I haven't used them on the track yet, so I can't comment there, but it is both more comfortable for daily driving and more sporty for canyon carving than the stock ZCP. The knock on their track prowess is that the springs are too soft. That is one of the reasons I went with stiffer sways in the front and rear, which have the effect of increasing spring rate, at least when turning. If they are still too soft, I will likely look into slightly stiffer, linear springs. My only regret with the Ohlins is that I never got to hold them in my hands before Malek put them on the car. Like the Akra, they are almost too nice to put on the car. |

I need to drive your car to see for myself. Let's swap M3's for a day.

I'd be happy to swap! The ZCP suspension is pretty comfortable, but the Ohlins are, in my view, a touch smoother than that, even. Worst case, I think you'd find it as comfortable as ZCP, but with a lower ride height and better handling.

Yes 18s are the only way to go. Hahaha... I say that but there are a few wheel/application options I would break my rule and go with 19s.
If 18s look this good on the F82 M4 (see INDs SEMA car)... they will look great on an E92. https://www.flickr.com/photos/59241080@N03/15709982931/
