Speaking of which... anything you can prescribe to help us get faster lap times? You know, turn us into Sennas for a few hours.

Ritalin could help, make you more aggressive and more attentive alert. Real speed or coke would be better but hard to take mid session.

Ritalin? Malpractice alert! I'll have you know, I just searched the all-knowing, better than medical/pharmacy school, source called Google and it says it's used to treat ADD/ADHD/sleep-disorder. What do you take me for, one of your flunky customers?!

WOW, it pays big time to make a big online indignation/frustration media coup :

- FREE flight to to europe

- FREE Matched individually stitched seats

- FREE OEM exhaust

- ???
Damnn... if BMW individual had only been a tenth of that a little more forthcoming when I asked for individual color and got refused twice (2009, 2010).

Don't give me wrong good for Bthumper and good work Steve but lowers further my opinion of bmw individual

ok, still, free $4,000 MSRP value OEM exhaust + free $1,500 airfare you basically got your individual options for free. I wanted nothing free, just to pay for individual color and didn't get it TWICE. BTW did they let you drive the beautiful atlantiC blue M3 in europe ?

What are you talking about? It would act as a stimulant as I described. Exactly what you would need to get all jacked up feeling and alert to drive like a super hero.

I've seen you complaining a few times and I don't understand why. I think you are missing several key facts.

- None of his individual options were "free." He paid for them then didn't get what he ordered when he went to pick it up.

- He didn't get to drive around in the other blue M3 in Europe the first time around.

- He did not raise the big stink on Jalopnik and was pissed when it showed up there. All he did was tell his story on this forum like anyone else would. He also refused to give updates or make any posts while in private negotiations with BMW.

- A free trip to Europe is the only way to properly amend for the screw up. But for the incident, he never would have had to fly out there twice. If he had to pay for the ticket then BMW effectively is charging him more to get what he paid for and BMW agreed to deliver to him.

- The free exhaust is the only "extra" he got. Not exactly crazy compensation for having to wait an extra 10 weeks or whatever. Besides, we don't even know how this went down - BMW likely offered this as a goodwill gesture, I doubt he threatened BMW with a lawsuit or whatever to get it. Are you telling me you would turn down a free exhaust if BMW offered it to you? Just be happy for him.

- Finally, why the hell are you comparing your experience of being turned down for an individual build to his? It has no relevance whatsoever. He was approved for this particular color, ordered it and paid in full. These threads would never exist if he wasn't approved in the first place.

Congrats b-thumper, car looks awesome. Glad to see you got what you bargained for and BMW stepped up to make it right.

My comments were directed to BMW individual not the OP. I expected no less that he would eventually get the car he had ordered and paid for built from scratch instead of getting the interior swapped. He LEGALLY was owed the car he ordered. I recall now that the initial alternative they proposed him was to reinstal the interior in a car with the correct paint. He refused (I would have to) which means they had to 1. manufacture another individual interior 2. Manufacture another M3 with all production slots already full and the tooling shut down process engaged 3. Have it special painted. He WAS entlited to all of these. This was a huge effort by BMW to come through for just one individual. Ok. I wish that bmw INDIVIDUAL was a tenth as souple, swift and accomodating when trying to add individual paint to a firm M3 order with money deposited. It should not take 4-6 weeks to approve a special paint and then even make an error. I hope bmw learned from this case and will have the individual dept run more smoothly with any reorg necessary. I think there is a correlation with what happened here and the handling of individual option orders. It is relevant.
