haven't had any rubbing issues... did you have passengers when you hit the big bumps?

Did you end up getting this set? I'm very interested in getting the same for some nice thick tires. What differences did you notice from stock? Any rubbing?

But, since I've received only favorable responses from folks who have done it, this IS my plan: PSS 275/30/19 and 295/30/19 on stock ZCP rims. Everything else stock (Except brake pads on track weekends...). What's your tire schedule? I need to search for info on what I can do camber-wise with my stock setup - find out how much adjustment is available and how much I should tweak it...

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream. - Jeremy Clarkson, discussing the S65 and then S55 M3 engines. |

Slicer and other forum members convinced me that the 255/35, 275/35 is perfect for the car and rims. So I ordered those in PSS's. If PSS came in 285/30 I would have done that. I figure unless I get my car supercharged, there's probably little benefit to having such a massive tire, although much sexier.

I’m currently running the PSS 255/35/19 upfront & 295/30/19 in the rear on Velos VII wheels 8.5 front 11 in the rear at stock height and have no rubbing. As for as gas mileage goes I’m getting the same mpg as before however I did just get the spark plugs changed as well.

I did get on it a little to see if any squat caused a rub - no rub so far. They are still kinda slippery though; spun easily. Thanks for the advice/encouragement; I'm very happy with the look and no rubbing so far!

Looks good, glad to hear they fit well! I definitely noticed the increase in grip once I swapped (though I'm also running 275/30 fronts). They look much better than stock too.

I would give it a few weeks of driving and see if the rub disappears. My rears rubbed very very slightly when new by maybe a millimeter or so. Didn't hear it, just observed it on the edge of the tires. Doesn't happen anymore.

Agreed.......wait it out and see what happens. J, how's the 275 up front doing? I will be going to that size on my next tire purchase..............Phil

I don't see the point in running 295's on a 10" wheel or 275's on a 9". You need at least 1/2" wider wheels for proper support of that size tire. The only reason I can imagine is if you are running in an Autocross class that limits wheel sizing.

Slicer, I understand your opinion on this subject and you've voiced it many times before, but once I have an idea in my head and I've decided that's what I want, logic be damned I like the ZCP wheels and have no plans to buy wider wheels, and with the 275/295 combo being (just barely) the second closest to factory diameter apart from the 255/275 combo, I decided to go for the wider rubber at the expense of steering feel. I'm happy with it, and I think that's all that matters. |

Will a 295/30 PS2 on a stock height stock suspension ZCP E92 work?
From this thread I've seen people are saying the PSS tire in the 295/30 works with no rubbing but what about the PS2? Are people buying the PSS because its cheaper or because it doesn't rub and the PS2 does? Thanks in advanced! |

The PSS is the successor to the PS2 and is a superior tire in nearly every way. Unless you have access to an old stock of PS2s that you're getting for free or something, I don't see any reason to go with PS2 over PSS.

I found someone selling a pair of 295/30/19 PS2 tires with maybe 1000miles on them for a really good price so that's why I asked. Thanks for the information though! |
