I had a silver Evo once. That was cool... but that was an Evo.
For an M3.. it's black or white baby!! If I didn't have jet black.. I would most definitely have white! WHITE FTW! (and i'm not a white car guy either.. or at least I thought I wasn't until I saw the white ///M3) |

silver with black interior is quite possibly the most resellable color combo in automotive history (other than Model T black).
there's a reason why like half of all BMW dealer inventory is specced in silver on black |

Depends on the shade, and silver hides both dirt and scratches very well.
I am personally not a huge fan of Silverstone, but it looks decent with the Silverstone interior and charcoal 18" wheels. Would prefer a more pure silver as opposed to the slight blue tint with Silverstone.

Silverstone is my favourite colour on the M3. I'm also 23 if that clears up any issues of it being an old man's colour.

SSII is the best color to bring out the distinctive lines of the M3 and it always looks good. So good that despite 6 hours of washing and detailing, I can't tell any difference from before when looking at the car from a few feet away. Miss the dazzling look my black 335i had after each wash.

Hate to say it but I find SSII a bit feminine and plain for a ///M. There I said it. Only girly men pick SSII
But seriously, as long as u like it who cares. |

I love SSI, not a fan of SSII. Too light/feminine/soft for me. I recommend Interlagos Blue instead. M Exclusive, and very, very nice.

The first two comments I get from people are either "nice wheels" or "amazing color."
The fact that this color changes based on lighting makes it hard to get bored of. I had my car parked next to an alpine white m3 last week and an overwhelming number of people commented that SSII was striking--and in a great way. The color really stands out nicely in bright sun and looks like traditional silver at night. The only time it doesn't look spectacular is when it's very overcast. |

Personally I don't mind SSII but as others have said (to most people) it is considered somewhat common. I prefer SG as it has much more "range" if you will going from light gray, to dark gray and even matte looking at certain angles...
I will agree that both look better IMO than AW. Just more dynamic.

I like SSII and it was my second choice. I like how it changes under different lights. I don't think there would be any issues with resale as silver on black is extremely popular.
The one thing I was worried about was how safe silver cars are on the road. Most studies suggest that black and red are less visible than silver for car colors. I used to have a silver GTI and people would pull out in front of me all the time. Granted that was before DRLs were standard.

SSii is a great unique colour for the M3, every time I look at my car I just see that awesome colour that shows the subtle lines and contrasts the carbon roof perfectly. I have an anthracite finish on my wheels which just finishes it all off.
SSii is a winning colour Good luck and enjoy your car. Cheers |

This color would be my first choice if it was available back in when I was making a purchase. I needed up with black/black and it was indeed the most difficult thing to maintain a good look.

I love my Jerez... when it's clean!
SSII is the best color for everyday enjoyment of this car. It was my first choice until I fell in-love with a clean Jerez Blk sitting inside the dealership. SSII always looks good and scratches and spider webs don't show nearly as much. Go for it!
