I don't want to jack the thread...Did the install with a buddy of mine who does electronic/interior work for some of the Audi/Benz/BMW dealers in my area. Took us about an hour and a 1/2. That includes CF pieces bmw doesn't offer like the front console. See my pix up in interior forum. Evan @ Tischer offered me the best prices..Used to have a GB available. Not sure if it's still there or not?

I have the aluminum with black extended leather an I am very happy with the look of the cabin. I do wonder, however, why you can't order the car with the real CF trim without having to get the pieces as accessories after the fact.

I bought my car used and it came with Sycamore Anthracite. Personally, I love it. My car is Sparkling Graphite and I think it does a really good job of tying together the gray exterior and black leather.

I guess I'm the only one with Sycamore Anthracite Wood trim. I like having a touch of nature even if it's just an illusion. Looks like, a lot of people ordered the aluminum. I can understand carbon leather because it's continuous with the CF roof. What I don't get is the aluminum. To me, it clashes. Why not gun metal or dark metallic finish to blend in with the rest of the cockpit?

I guess I asked the question since I am thinking of perhaps changing it, I kind of like what Mark's car interior looked like. This is a screen shot of a section of Mark's interior dash, I'm sure many of you have seen it ... I do like it a lot. I think it would go well with my interior fox red Then one should not copy someone else's individual design I guess ... I properly will leave it as is after all brushed aluminium looks very nice.

I cannot vouch for all interior colors with aluminum but with the two-tone silverstone/novillo leather, the aluminum with its slight bluish tinge really goes well and does not contrast things but rather compliments the entire interior with the mix of the silverstone leather pieces and novillo leather pieces.
My fav all time is piano black however |

I got the Carbon Leather. Got my car used and didn't even realize they made that trim option until I saw it. I think it looks sick... and definitely unique. Haven't seen it before.
I can't stand fake wood trim and I'm not a big fan of the aluminum, so I guess I was lucky that the car I eventually bought had the carbon leather. Aluminum wouldn't be a dealbreaker, but I wouldn't pick one up with the wood. If I had to choose, I would go with the same carbon leather trim. My second fave would have to be a piano black. I agree with Hot Ice, that I wish they offered a real CF trim option. That would def be the sickest choice.

Carbon. I'd go carbon again based on the choices BMW offers. I have thought about getting the Carbon Fiber trim. If that was an option I'd pay premium for it when ordering.

I went for the aluminium trim, to compliment Jerez black and Fox Red interior. Although I'm still waiting on my car, I based my choice on these colours giving a sporty, modern look ... and from the mock-ups and photos of other cars with this config, I'm not going to be disappointed.

I got the carbon leather, which I ordered because I don't like aluminium trims because it makes the car feel too "cold". If I could do it again I would do the same, sycamore looks very nice but too classy for me.

[QUOTE=Rolf-Dieter;10794243]1) Did you order it that way and why?
--Yes, I did. I had aluminum trim on my previous E92 and I had to be extra careful with it not to ding it 2) If you had to do it over again what would you pick? The same..... But if carbon fiber was an option (like the one in GTS & etc) I would go with that route.

Space Gray + FR + carbon leather. From the options available at the time it was the best choice, had real CF been offered back I would have considered it. I think its appropriate for the type of car it is.

Rolf-D, I see why you chose the aluminum trim that you did. I really like the piano trim per your picture. And many others have valid reasons for choosing what they did. If I can do it again, I'd still go with the wood, maybe the carbon leather. Like with every other options that this car comes with, you can trash it or praise it depending on your taste. Just don't see the point of trashing something just because you don't like it. Plenty of other people may find it to their liking. Whatever. I wonder if there's an option that absolutely no one gets.
