Not only is the S65 the last naturally aspirated BMW V8, it is also just about the last naturally aspirated engine from BMW period. Within two years, every single car they sell, diesel or gasonline, will be turbocharged. The naturally aspirated V8 and V12 are already gone from series cars, the M V10 is gone, and the naturally aspirated four cylinder and six cylinder are just starting to be phased out this year.
Why do people not like turbo cars? i thought turbo cars were always faster, as dipicted in the movies...i know its movies, but still....

Is it because of the huge 335 recall just recently? you would think that such a big company such as BMW would eventually get it right and know how to manufacture a turbo....are people afraid the turbo will break and cost a ton to fix?

The M1 is nice but take a look at a 2009 e92 m3 next to it. The M3 makes the 1M look like a boys car.

I understand questions about options, modifications, living with the M3 etc. I however don't understand someone asking which car to buy, the answer is always the one you want. IMO A car is too big of a purchase to go on a web forum and let the users decide for them which car to buy. That is almost like going on a web forum, posting two or three pictures of hot women and saying which one should I marry?

To the OP, buy the car you want the most. Test drive an M3 and test drive a 1M then decide if you have to have one of those vehicles. Don't worry about what is coming out next year or the year after, no matter what car you get there is always one coming out down the road that will be better.

When I first test drove an E9X M3 I knew I had to have one because I loved it. IMO if you don't get that feeling when you drive a car than don't buy it!

Get the M3 now. You can always get an F3x 3 series or M3 later, or even a F2x 1M.
+1

Cheers,
